Australian Trivia Only

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Found him David, Boofhead the Railway Dog Statue, Temora, NSW, he turned up at the station in 1959, a long legged black & white fox terrier, the statue sits in the Temora Railway Museum.

ONYA SHIRLEY!!!
You’re quite the detective!
We’re currently in the C**A Member’s’ campground in Temora.
Wandered into the Hysterical Railway Station and there he was: Boofhead the Railway Dog.
Apparently he used to hitch a ride with any train going anywhere. At various times he was found in Sydney & Parkes!
Always managed to find someone who would put him on a train home. He had a dogtag saying he had a lifetime membership at Temora RSL... but that’s another story. 😀
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Will have to find out more about Boofhead. I knew it wasn't Bob the railway dog from SA or Horrie the Wog dog from WW2 as it was wrong breed.
Cheers

Someone else post a question please, think it easier being a detective at the moment Ray.

Busy the next few days, off to the Mater with Bruce tomorrow & our pennant teams have both reached the finals so have to cheer them on Tuesday, two of the men's teams played in the finals on Saturday, one won & brought the flag home, the others finished runners up.

Congrats on the pennant, Shirley!
I think it was a line in one of the Rocky films, “Coming second just means you’re the first of the losers.”
I reckon that’s a pretty dismal way to look at it.
Sometimes coming second means the other team fluked a shot.
I’m hopeless at bowls, but sometimes even I can kiss the kitty.

Definitely not Lance Herring from Bordertown! He used to lump 2 bags at once. Giant of a man & 4' across the shoulders.
At 180lbs a bag it was something to watch in awe.
