Tuggerah Lakes

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

A few weeks ago the lake was getting high, council would do nothing, then a local person with an excavator went down and opened the lakes up to let the water out. Just as well he did or there would have been a lot more flooding.
Am so advised by a local resident.

We were all lucky that the tides haven't been high or many more areas around Tuggerah Lakes & Lake Macquarie would of flooded.
The local page reported that it was the council that organised the excavator to open the channel at The Entrance, anybody deciding to do same would find themselves in big trouble with the council.

Peter that is exactly what happened last year, but this time the council did their own digging out the channel. Perhaps the guy with excavator showed them how it should be done.

Thanks Shirley, it's good to see how the place is going. Budgewoi and Toukley seem to always take a beating in these weather systems. Not really wanting to rush home now, but we will anyway. :)
