They don’t make ‘em...

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Ray, you were lucky to even find a branch of Westpac still in existence.
Personally, for real building treasures, you can't go past Bendigo and Ballarat. NSW is not a great place for building/history conservation. If there is money to be earned, they close their eyes and knock down our heritage stuff. :o

Southern Cross in WA has some REAL buildings & a lot of history.
I think it's wrong for Gov or councils to 'declare' a building & place restrictions on it without contributing anything.
I've known of several people that have been caught with restrictions that have cost them thousands. Can't sell them, can't repair them except in genuine materials. Only option is an accidental fire!!
Or maybe use it for "bodies in the barrels" like at Snowtown??

There is another option, our local shire council with gov.appointed administrators in control just spent $480,000 on a building in Korumburra that was built as a temperance hotel and is the oldest heritage listed building to be knocked down for carparking?
