When the night cart rolled over on a very tight bend, the not much liked local highway patrol copper turned up and asked "What do we have here"without blinking an eye, the driver said "Just a routine stock-take, worried we were a turd short but now it seems we have the count correct now you've showed up"

The local SAPOL people are great. They do the Police type work, not traffic so not revenue collectors. If they need traffic people or drug/alcohol testing bus and traffic filtering through the blockade, they get the Murray Bridge people to handle it. The locals are keen to stay friendly with the towns people who in the majority do the right thing. There are a few feral characters in town so there is a bit of a reliance on the locals supporting the local SAPOL in keeping it under control .....
