5th wheelers

One question at a time please & once the person asking the question is happy with the answer they'll say "next question please" & anyone can chime in with the next question. (fun, fun, fun!)

Peter,
Have you posted pics of the new rig somewhere here?
I presume it's another Macquarie??
For general info, we seriously considered a Nissan Navara/Macquarie 29foot fiver... but changed to a Winnie Explorer when we realised the Macquarie didn't have much storage space for the tools, BBQ & other odds & sods we wanted to take when OTR long-term.
We didn't 'travel light'... :D ;)
Regards & God bless,
Ray

It wasn’t a 5th wheeler as opposed to a caravan, it was as opposed to a bus.
They just look huge, like they should be behind a Mack truck.

That's exactly what those yank ones look like from a distance, a truck waiting to pass someone.

We were 3.9M high (3.8 and a bit but I told the navigator 3.9 to be sure we fitted under things)
I learnt to plan my trips through Melbourne.
They look high compared to the cab of the tow vehicle but not much higher than some buses and motorhomes.
Pushing into a headwind you notice it.

The biggest killer is weight. They are easy to overload, just like any other caravan, motorhome etc.
