Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

"tanks" here---
Lightning and thunder with massive cyclonic type rain at the Dysart Bunker just started.
I think we have 3 inches in 3 minutes with winds at gale force. Power just went off.

we had an almighty storm this afternoon, hail included with plenty of heavy rain. Lost power at 3:30 for the first time in approx 20 years. Restored around 9;30 so had dinner by candlelight, Henny Penny chicken and chips.

We had no rain, just strong winds, thunder & lightning as the storm skirted around the western side of the lake, strong winds again now.
CMCA posted that they lost power at Wickham on their FB page this arvo.

Shirly, our side of the lake went unscathed too. But the crashing wind right now is a bit unseasonal and feels cyclonic in a minor way. So far no power issues, but only using the solar power anyway.

Safe flying Dot xxxx shame that you had to leave your pussy behind.

Had a weird day here. Went to quacks to get provisions for the next 6 months. Took a while, but no real problems, except we live in a tiny spot on the map. So the local chemist will take a few days to get all the supplies organised. Then we went to our building society to organase internet banking....what a way to idle off 2 hours. Anyway, we now have internet access to our mortgage, in case of any unforeseen emergency. Painful is the best way to describe the process.
Van is now packed and we are off in the morning to Murrarundi in the Hunter Valley for their weekend of King of the Ranges festival, which is a fancy rodeo. Our jayco mates have this weekend all sorted out for us to party along with them. It's a sort of extra dry run before we leave home for six months soon.
goodnight one and all xxx

The power is on again. 01:35 am Thursday.
Two young Ergon linesmen called to see if I was O K because I am marked as being on life support due to the oxygen machine. They were going to leave a small 240 volt generator for me to use while the power was off, in case I had to run the oxygen machine. They look after you well in Dysart.

We have power but no NBN internet or phone. Does the fault lie with the NBN, the modem or the provider??? I am even having trouble connecting to the internet via my mobile hotspot so am posting this via Sean's mobile hotspot.

George, if you have power on at home, it can't be your modem. I would suggest that your provider has lost power to their tower/s in your area. We always used to be amused whenever power was lost to our water plant on top of the highest hill on the Gold Coast.
There was always a queue of techs lined up to get in the gate to start their backup gensets.
I would expect that everything has returned to normal by now.
Cheers
