Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!
We made the haul from Hobart up to Queenstown in the wild west as they call it here. We stopped at THE WALL at Derwent Bridge today. If you are coming to Tassie and have any interest in sculpture or woodwork the this place is a must see. Thanks for the recommendation Bernie.
We are planning on going on the little steam train in the morning.
Goodnight Dot,wherever you are.
Cheers

Hi Dave, still no nbn, can't access the internet via phone hotspot (mine or Julie's). Smart meter replaced this afternoon so solar should be back in action tomorrow.
Managed to hotspot from Julie's Ipad to post this.

George, isn't modern technology great? I am over it. Why can't they leave things alone, if they are working? Sorry if that sounded cynical, but, seems that the more fancy stuff they add, the more stupid things that can go wrong. Hope you get it sorted soon.
Had a long day yesterday, just getting to Murrarundi, seemed to take forever and it was ever so hot. Had a good long sleep and feel ok today. We had a fancy dinner at the festival, Beautifully cooked lump of wagyu beef, with some weird salads and either cheese cake or pavlova, both smothered in a thick cherry sauce...not as good as last year's dinner and the entertainment was fairly basic too. So a bit disappointed. Anyway, he is getting his fix for horsey stuff.
Anybody know where the silly old tart is, Had a phone call couple of days ago, nothing since....DOT where bloody hell are you....Got a V8 show and swap meet on in town today so missing out...
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than speak and remove all doubt.... If at first you dont succeed, Skydiving is not for you.
Norman, We haven't heard from her yet. Maybe they wouldn't let her in the country. It's a bit crook if you are preceeded by your reputation.
We are in a little town called Roseberry in the NW of Tassie tonight. We couldn't get on the West Coast Wilderness Railway from Queenstown down to Strahan this morning as it was full. And is fully booked for last 3 and next 3 days. Obviously wasn't my turn. Bugger. So I cracked it and we drove down to Strahan anyway. When we were nearly there we were held up by a road accident. Some poor couple had had the misfortune to jack knife their van and put both vehicles on their side. Fortunately no one injured but I think the van will be a write off. The two yet would probably have driven away I think. Depends on how shook up the driver and his wife were. They had a boat on the roof of the Ute that had zero damage as well.
Their holiday is stuffed but at least they are ok.
We are off to see the Nut and around that area in the morning.
Cheers

Hope the AWOL Dot has now been located, have fun Missus Mischief xxxx
Watched and enjoyed some interesting challenges here today. One was meant to imitate most of the things that a stockman would do in any day. SO start the day by building and lighting a campfire, put the billy on. Set up an old fashioned rabbit trap. Collect your horse, ride across arena bareback, saddle it and then collect three brumbies. Take the brumbies following your horse, over a figure eight course, then over three small jumps, put the brumbies into a fenced area, tie them securely. Give your horse to a handler then run to where two men are holding a feral goat. The goat is thrown to the ground, hog tied and pretend castrated (with a huge rubber band) a peg on its ear followed by branding it with a painted brand, Sit down to a cup of billy tea. The interesting thing was that this challenge was won by a young lady. She does most of this stuff every day on the farm. Obviously this is not just a rodeo, but a stockmens challenge. Very interesting.
