I am really peeved off at the lack of organisation when it comes to the distribution of necessary items esp for the elderly, They say go at 7am (the pensioners) but when you get there nothing on the shelves so the poor buggers are no better off. Drakes for example are selling butter for $7.50. spuds $12kg. caulies $15 each now if that isn't a down right rip off then what is? Milk hasn't gone up and that is what butter is made from last time I checked. My claytons daughter is a radiographer in Brisbane and she said that patients were stealing every bit of hand sanitiser, loo rolls, masks and even gowns so now all that stuff is locked away. Pretty pathetic isn't it? Time to say goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Sending the dragon breath to your crappy man/ brother of friend. Seems there is a lot of that sort of crap going on. jealousy and greed are not nice to watch in real life. I have had my rant about the disadvantaged peoples time slot too. I refuse to get up that early so that I can line up with potential germ spreaders and to find nothing on the shelves anyway. Night Dot xxxx
Had a firing the kiln day. Plates looking good, but were way too hot to fully open the kiln. So tomorrow I will set them over the moulds and have them ready for a Monday firing. It's good not having to have things constructed for a set date. Like when we were going away, I had to have a certain amount of stock all crated and ready to sell before we left home. Luckily, we still have all that stuff to sell whenever the opportunity arises. We did sell a bit at Glen Innes, but it didn't put a hint of a dint on the whole quantity of ready to sell stuff.
While supervising the kiln, I sorted out the op shop finds and started to prepare some rings. These are not real quality jewellery, so moving out the stones was more difficult than I expected. I have succeeded with three of the five rings. More digging tomorrow.

Thanks Dot, keep happy down South. All is well up here at the Dysart Bunker. Major still loves me.
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Busy, busy, busy...
Spent the morning as Gardener's Labourer (Light Duties)...
Made lunch for two, then both went for a SCAN.
SCAN completed, watched 16:00 update on Covid-19, read a bit, cleaned kitchen sink & bench then read a bit more.
Dinner by SWMBO's Catering Co: Air-fried chicken drumsticks with Moroccan Seasoning & baked spuds in jackets. Yummy!!
Sank exhausted into Favourite Chair to watch IdiotBox until midnight.
Dunno how we found time to go to work in a past life...
G'nite all... specially Dottie & Mr G.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, hope you celebrated George's birthday in style. Oh and HBTY George xxxx
Ray, you are so right there. I don't remember being as busy when at full time w**k. But then, it wasn't as much fun either.
Today I fired the kiln to fit a plate to a sandwich platter mould. Not sure how it will look. Didn't look like it had any shape at all, after being there for way too long. So tomorrow will tell, if it has stayed flat or created a miracle. I cut up enough bits of glass, shaped and designed it to make 5 pendants, 3 rings and 1 brooch and a few earrings to match. That lot have filled up a kiln shelf, so when I get the chance they will be fired. They are all op shop finds, so quite a challenge.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
For those old enough to remember one of our fellow members known as Al41 aka Alan (from Murtoa) for some reason I was thinking of him today and wondering what he would be thinking about the V8's and the disappearance of Holden then it occurred to me it was 7 yrs ago that he passed away. He had a really wicked sense of humour. Anyway time to get to bed so Goodnight everyone x
Good to hear you are doing bits and bobs Ray just don't over do it Goodnight Ray x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, woollies are a waste of time, try a local foodworks or an IGA. They seem to have a lot more stock of most things and very few limits on what you can buy. Dunny paper is available at our servo, but it's expensive. Happy hunting tomorrow mate xxxx
Had a domesticated day today, cooking up a few things. Pumpkins mashed and stored in the freezer, jelly, stewed apple and a large pot of shepherds pie. When I finally got to the shed, I found the plate from yesterday had cooked up ok, so settled another plate in to cook up tomorrow. I designed a few more upcycled necklaces, cut their glass, added it to the kiln shelf for another load later in the week. And that's where the daylight ended.
