Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
I thought Chuck had set up camp last night, the wind was gale force. Luckily it was gone by morning. Finally after nearly 3 weeks the bag of dog food I ordered from Melb arrived this arvo. Talk about the slow Aust Post Truck from Melb.
Still waiting for another parcel from USA via China
the tracking place says it is in transit, didn't think planes could fly so slow or for such long times without refuelling .It was dispatched 3/3/2020...Off to bed now so goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Toolman x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Long day Dot? xxxx
Ray, copper foil around the edges of the glass shape, then use soldering to join two pieces together is a stained glass thing. Think of Tiffany lamps. Cloisonne work is done with silver wire making shapes over a metal base, and then powdered enamels or glass are used to fill in the shapes before firing them. Amazing how many different ways we can get fancy coloured glass , all basically from sand and bits of metal.
Had a slow day with a plumber visit to our rental. So lost half the day waiting around for him to arrive etc. Then when I finally got to my shed I really enjoyed the tranquility. More upcycled necklaces are under way with matching earrings all done. That filled up the first kiln shelf, so another two shelves to fill before it's time to fire it up.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Today I found out what a real friend is. She has many many serious health issues of her own but also one of her kids is also not without health probs. This woman has the kindest heart of anyone I have ever known. She lives in Adelaide now so she is close to the hospital when needed, I had a message from her to say her husb would be dropping a box off for me. Well bugger me, it was 2 boxes with, bog rolls, box's of tissues, surg gloves, hand /body wipes, and some other medical bits and bobs plus fruit of various types. Not one of anything either. She knew we were having trouble getting some of these things so she did this for us. Gobsmacked is the word to use. So with my faith in humanity restored I shall say goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Tanks and Mr Major x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot you really have a wonderful friend. Wouldn't the world be a better place if we all tried to be as kind as your lady? xxxx
Today the order arrived with the last bits needed to get the window construction done. So with excitement, I started soldering the biggest bits of glass together. While moving a piece of glass to the other bench, I heard a thud. The finished windows fell to the floor and managed to crack 8 of the 12 panels. Back to the drawing board. I have cleaned out the cracked panels. None could be salvaged for this project, but the glass will be used again. Way too much glass to just toss it out. So the silicone will have to be removed from all of the scraps before I recycle/re-fire it. That now leaves me with 8 panels to be started on again. Removing the glass scraps was a four bandaid job...say no more.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
"tanks" here---
I had a sleep-in this morning and Major let me snooze till 8am before he wanted the back door open.
It looks like a wonderful day again (I am in Queensland). The outside temp is 23c, which is pretty good for this time of the year.
I took time last night on "you-tube" looking for some Pipes and Drums music for Anzac Day march around the front lawn.
Nothing much else to report.
I have a TeleView appointment with the Lung specialist on Friday morning.. The specialist is in Mackay Hospital Respiratory Dept. and I will be at the Dysart Hospital.
I am going to be a TV Star.
Keith.

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
I am sure that you enjoyed the ferkiling Mrs Brown there, Dot. xxxx
Keith, hope the starring role on tv brings you good health. Can't beat how they figure out this techy stuff, but it sure is safer than going to a big centre at the moment and a lot more convenient too. Dysart has a hospital? Is it a proper hospital or it it like the RSL at Sapphire?
After yesterday's carnage, I couldn't face going back to the shed today, so did a few other errands with his nibs and will return to face the glass tomorrow.

"tanks" here ---Deb,
Yes, Dysart has a proper 12 bed hospital with a helicopter landing and all mod cons run by Qld Health and the local G.P., and a good nursing staff.
The hospital opened in 1982 and is adjacent to the Medical Centre.
Keith.

Travel safe Dot, hope the border police dont stop you, like they are doing here. xxxx
Keith, I didn't think Dysart was as big as it seems to be. Sorry for being so misinformed. Hope the doc things is ok.
Today, I spent some time in the shed just sorting out what glass I could use for the replacement panels for my window job. I made up three of the panels with the most simple designs, just to get the job make on track. It feels better to be getting on with it now.
