Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Not saying much Dot, are you OK? xxxx
Hope to see Ray and Ncle George on the mend very soon xxx

Had a crap day today. The kiln has managed to split one of my tree panels right in half. So this morning I put the panel halves onto another piece of glass and tried to re-fire it to make it usable. I have very low expectations for this piece. So I almost am going to have to make another one, maybe tomorrow. All this re-firing stuff is causing the whole window completion date to keep blowing out, so now, it will be finished when it's finished.

Had a visit from our sparky. I didn't know that when you have wired in smoke detectors, thay have to be replaced every ten years oops. I also didn't know that they have batteries in them that need annual replacement. So the detectors that were installed 15 years ago, will be replaced soon and have nice new batteries as well. Not a great bit of information to discover a few years too late. Apparently all these smoke detectors have use by dates and should be replaced regularly. I must have been not listening when we had them installed.

happy dreams out there xxx

Thanks... Dr is gradually reducing the power of my painkillers. Fingers crossed...

Re smoke detectors: I didn't know about their use-by date either... although I was aware of the need for battery back-up. That's in case the fire cuts house power before the detector senses smoke.
Looks like we also have an appointment with a sparky. Our house is 25 yrs old.

AOK thanks Deborah. Sounds like your glass is being a PITA but keep at it. Gee aren't car salesmen good with trade in prices NOT. Had a lovely "thank you" card in the letter box today from the elderly lady over the road that we dropped a few bits off to her last week. Time for bed so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Bobr x :D

Yep Dot, the glass is a self inflicted PIA, but at least there is never a dull moment here. xxxx

I took the repaired panel from the kiln today and I am quite happy with the repair. So each panel has now been siliconed into place in the frames of the window. Now "all" I have left to do, is continue with the stained glass panels that are to go around the window. Obviously it is still a big work in progress. Spent the afternoon with the plumber, replacing taps and fixing a noisy pump for the tank water. All done now, so that's our stimulous package spent...lucky plumber, but he did earn it and the taps were not cheapy ones.

I take it all back Dot. I was in slow gear today and no shed time at all Stay sane-ish xxxx

So today was a grocery shop day. First time out of the lair for almost three weeks. Ir was exhausting. Grabbed a couple of bits of wood from the hammer shop and then off to the grocery. There were real people there, so nice to see someone/anyone away from an ipad screen.

Sleep well out there xxx

What a miserable day it was today, belting rain and strong winds so it was a stay in side day with the fire going. Looking at what brand type of car to get, small car, auto, safety, fuel consumption , comfort etc. Any suggestions anyone? It's the same as computers and phones to us all the specs and stuff they put up about the cars so confusing for us to sort the chafe from the wheat... Anyway time for bed so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Helen aka HTFFBO x :D

Dot are you after a little car or a small car?
Ten years ago we bought our two daughters a new Hyundai Getz each for Christmas, it was a "forever" Christmas present.
Both girls were at uni at the time and we were selling the home they had grown up in and doing a tree change to a small country town.
I had maintained the old cars they were driving but keeping them going into the future was going to be beyond their means while studying and working to support themselves.
After much searching we settled on the Getz's as at the time they had a drive away deal with 8 years warranty.
Both cars have spent their whole life parked outside and with only regular servicing, both cars are still going strong with the only repairs other than a battery and tyres each being one engine mount on each in the last ten years.
I don't think you could go wrong with a Hyundai, not sure which new ones can be towed though.
