Understandable.
Aeropelican is too far away to be a reasonable alternative.
I’m not aware of any other airstrip in the Gosford area either. Too close to both Sydney & Newcastle.
Hard to justify big plane capacity, but it would have been nice if Councils consulted their residents...

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Aeropelican was closed for a few years but has opened up again, to small to land bigger planes.
Williamtown airport is a commercial airport these days, they have recently upgraded it & until this Covid pandemic they had been increasing the number of flights & destinations available, think it's called Newcastle airport now.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Have flown into & out of both.
Aeropelican was always by far the most ‘interesting’... taking off over the Lake. Couldn’t extend the rather short runway because of the Pacific Hwy.
Biggest plane it could handle at that time was a 12 passenger turboprop.
Williamtown was (is?) a shared runway with the RAAF on t’other side. Just another regional airport — seen one, seen ‘em all. Had to read the sign to ensure I was in Ncle, not Mt Isa.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Enjoy your dreams Dot Looks like you have a busy week planned. xxxx
George and Ray, sorry for not specifying that it's Warnervale airport that is coming up for contention. The airport has had many restrictions on it by state governments, particularly to protect our wetlands and water catchment area. The headline read "Warnervale airport (restrictions) Repeal Bill has passed" We have fought this happening, every time that it has come up because access to Newcastle (Williamtown) and Pelican are sufficient for the flying public. Warnervale has been good for the gliders and parachuting peoples without causing too much noise or pollution. The repeal bill has been snuck into parliament without so much as a hello from the pollies. Not happy jan. Letters will be writ!
The grevillia tree that fell down has been found to have a compromised root structure (a few really big holes from worms and beetles) so it would not have survived even if we had been strong enough to upright it. The local mens shed people are coming to take the remains away. That was a good suggestion to offer it, as now the green bin won't need to be filled up for the next month with the stumps. As it is, we have filled up three of the neighbouring green bins with the leaves etc. Sometimes it is good being amongst a lot of holiday homes.
I really do need some ugly sleep,
so night all xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
It always amazes me when people who have moved into an area near an airport start to complain about the noise of aircraft.

Makes perfect sense; it wasn't there before they moved. It always amazes me when people who have moved into an area near an airport start to complain about the noise of aircraft.
Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
There's a serial complainer opposite the Maryborough ( Qld) Airport.
He rang Maryborough Aviation LAME about the excessive noise from his workshop.
Twas a F111 doing touch and goes...D/Head . (they don't actually touch the ground ).
Bernie .
