Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Chap in our bay is a helicopter pilot & often lands on his property, even has a hanger to store same but some folk that have moved into the area complain, he always lands & takes off over the lake, the noise of same is only there for a short time, the jet skis & speed boats that race around all day on weekends & holiday periods make heaps more noise.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
No worries at all getting the 2015 Suzuki Swift (manual) VIN etc checked by the coppers at Murray Bridge then around to Transport SA once again no worries, all done within an hr
There was also a couple of men that had come to do the same with their BMW from Qld, what a carry on, No engine number to be found, the cops, and the RAA man couldn't find it either, The motor had a cover right across the motor and no matter what they pushed and pulled nothing budged . In the end the coppers got all the other info and passed it . Then we met up with them again at the Transport SA place so we wished them well and headed to Maccas. As we were heading to the cop shop who do you think we met coming towards us??? No escaping the HTFFBO
So after a ph call we met at Maccas for a cuppa
No covid safety precautions to be seen so I went and asked where the hand sanitizer was and was pointed tp the only one and it was 99.9% empty. . Helen was looking good she gave me 10kg. generous as well. They headed off to showgrounds and we were on our way home but we did a U'e and headed to Mannum but all locked up, so a ph call and we headed home. Only stalled the car once, forgot it is a manual
The little car goes really well. On the way home I saw a crow struggling on the road so stopped, picked it up and took it to the vet but pretty sure it would be put to sleep, one wing was not happy at all. I couldn't do it and the vet was ok to take it.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
You had an eventful day Dot. xxxx
George, there was no airport at Warnervale when we moved into the area 20 years ago. It was a landing strip for skydiving and gliders. It was called an aviation club. It is only in the last few years that the council have renamed it as an airport , which in itself is interesting, as the strip is not big enough for any more than Pelican can handle. I am not against the planes, just the fact that the land that will need to be reclaimed to lengthen the strip is part of our water catchment and is a "protected " wetlands area. Apparently it's only protected from Jo Blo Public...council and government will do what ever they want, especially when they are in deep doo doo over their finances at the council. This appears to be another diversionary tactic, to stop us asking tricky questions about finances.
Kiln was fired, grevillia was collected by men's shedders and a chooken was baked for dinner (with all the usual vegs and home made stuffing)
night all xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Deb,
Good to hear that the Men’s Shed wanted the Grevillea wood.
They will need to slab it & dry it for a year at least, but I reckon a heap of free wood is a good deal in anyone’s language!

Thanks (on behalf of the local — & all — Shedders) for taking up my suggestion.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
A bit overwhelming, I’ll admit.
We went to Netflix for the night.
Just switched to NEWS24...
The Clown has tweeted a demand that the count stop when the POLES closed.
He obviously doesn’t know the difference between a wooden post and a POLLing booth.
I fear for the Free World if The Clown gets back in.
He has claimed ‘voter fraud’ on the Biden side.
An old saying comes to mind. Can’t remember it precisely... something about pots & kettles.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, have a safe day tomorrow my dear xxxx
Ray, it was a good suggestion to offer the grevillea to the men's shed. I put it up on the local f**kbook page and they got in very fast. Another lassy asked for some for her wood turning Dad, so she is yet to collect her bits. I reckon there should be quite a few really fine pieces of art created out of that tree.
I spent the day sanding tiny edges on the earrings that I fired yesterday. I forgot that they grow daggers on them if fired on a textured shelf. So it was just a slow and boring day here.
