Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
A busy tiring day is way better than the alternative Dot. xxxx
Spent the last 2 days working out how to fire the new kiln controller. I fired up a load today and so far it seems all good. It's just reached the cooling down cycle and this is where a lot of cracks can come in. So very tense here at the moment. I have had to learn another new language, just to be able to programme the thing and then I have to remember to give it instructions in a totally different order. It's just very different and a steep learning curve.
i am off to find some ugly sleep,
sweet dreams you lot xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
You can do it Deborah and remember cocks ups can make some good stuff.
G went to the block today to do a whipper snipping job and there was a branch down from those winds last week.. Brian also went to the vets for his yearly jabs and 3 mthly worming, he is such a good pussy cat
Back to the Covid "precautions" at the vets, masks, hands 1 person in consult, sign in etc etc. Today I got 3 of the big stitches out of my arm tongue, 1 to go plus a stitch from my nose surg can get the rest of them boogers out on Monday.... I managed scrambled eggs for tea and some jelly and custard for pudding.
Hey Ray don't forget we still have those shoe things but I promise NOT to tell Joy (for now)
Taking the bus and the little car for a test run tomorrow, first time of hooking them up before we attempt any longer trips.
So goodnight everyone x Goodnight Ray x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Amazing just what we can do when the need arises Dot. Yes kiln is different, but it still does the job and that's all that counts. Trying to have no more stuff ups for a while
xxxx
Today's load was a bowl that had broken in four pieces, when I tried to bend it over a bowl mold. So today it was fuzed back into being just one piece. Will have a squizz at it in the morning to decide if it needs more time getting flatter or if it can go back to the bowl mold...Always something weird n wacky in my shed.
Right next to my shed today we had a lovely wedding happening at the neighbours air b n b . It was a very casual event with wedding on the waterfront, followed by sit down lunch outdoors. All the younger members of the group then played on the various water craft that are part of the place and as the sun started to set, the groom fired up the barbie. Really a friendly event.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
How did the bowl finish up Deborah? Did the kiln man fix your kiln controller or did you have to replace it? I looked at some of them on ebay. Not cheap are they.
Cheers

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Well the test run with the new tow car went very well so we intend to head off for a few days soon. I have the surgeon tomorrow for check up, I have just one stitch left in the arm/tongue to disappear and not sure about the ones up the snoz.. Brian is not feeling well today, it may be a reaction to the different worm pill, not wanting to eat but has had some water if no better in the morning I shall ring the vet, can't have my pussy feeling poorly.
I'm heading to the shower then to bed so Goodnight everyone x

Hope your poorly pussy is feeling a lot more chirpy tomorrow Dot xxxx
David, the kiln controller was pronounced dead and it cost me $1300 to replace it.. Makes the original kiln purchase of $300 sound amazing now. I had to replace the controller soon after buying the kiln, about 10 years ago. That cost me $500 for a re-conditioned one and the kiln itself is still going strong. The broken bowl fired down well, so next step is to shape it onto the bowl former some time this week. This is one fascinating "hobby" , but it can be a tad expensive sometimes too.
Today was our neighbourhood Christmas party and it was a very different affair. We didn't share food, but it was still nice to meet up with some of the locals. The weather was a bit crappy and had a shower of rain about half an hour before it was due to start. That explained why there wasn't a huge crowd as we have had in the past, but a small crowd was good and everyone enjoyed the meet n greet.
Now I am super stuffed,
so good night from me xxx
