Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, you wisely out of reach again ? Hope you are resting wherever you may be xxxx
Thanks David and Robert for caring. Had a text message at 7:30 this morning to cancel our day due to a sick kiddy. Not a recommended time to contact me any day. So we are now going to try the event for tomorrow. I am over Christmas by now.
Did a kiln firing to flatten a messed up bowl and get it ready to start again soon. Sometimes it seems the kiln gets better attention than I do some days.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Today was a ripper. fantastic couple of hrs at the physio.
Back to Mt Barker, saw the covid testing right next to the caravan park where my old friends are staying so I thought I would get tested. 3 pages to fill out , nice lady even got me a cold bottle of water as I was so dry I could hardly speak. Waited for about 30 mins before I got to the next checking person. What a bitch she was, I asked if she had been told by the first lady that I could NOT have the swab from my nose, she then said "Well you cant have the test done" Hackles up and firing on all cylinders, The other lady came in and I told her what I had just been told, she said I could have it done and the testing person came out to see what the prob was ? She took me into the testing room . I unloaded about the "nasty bitch saying I could not have the test unless they could do both the nose and throat " I had explained why but the nasty bitch would not listen. The girl doing the test said that it was NOT right what the other thing said to me and esp how she spoke to me.
Utter bitch she was, just imagine if she was like that towards some elderly / frail people ? Not good enough as far as I am concerned so yes I will be making a complaint. Then went to my mates caravan and had a fantastic couple of hrs, remembering our primary school days and how many of our mates have either died or nearly dead. He and his wife were about to go on the train trip The Canadian Rockies trip but he had a heart attack the day before departure so that was that, his wife had breast cancer, it is bloody well not fair just about everyone we know has or had one of these dam diseases. Anyway we headed home for a well earned cuppa. Time to hit the sack now so Goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Riverlander x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Good question about the window cleaner Dot, I have been wondering the same thing. xxxx
Christmas mark 3 has finally happened. Was successful. All family members behaved, no drunken/abusive behaviours and the food was suitable for the day. Annoyingly, we had to stay indoors with the wet/windy weather making it impossible to go outside to eat. All up the indoors wasn't too cramped and we were able to stay a fair bit apart. I think the covid people would have approved. We are certainly not like the morons from the red zone, who went to a wedding, out of zone and in a large group. Good to see that the venue reported their attendance and the attendees were fined a grand each person. The fine won't make any difference if they have spread the germs throughout a large Sydney crowd. You definitely can't cure stoopid.

A retired friend does window cleaning as a part time job.
He recommends Fairy Detergent for the best result, cheap and does the job without streaks.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Today we waved farewell to Son-&-Heir & partner today, after a three-day visit. Most pleasant time was had by all.
Unfortunately G’daughter couldn’t come — mum’s year to have her stay over Christmas.
S&H brought his laptop — had work to complete to a New Year deadline. Technology of today means where he was during meetings was totally irrelevant. Three-way discussion ensued with developing screen displayed alongside faces of participants while they worked on it!
It’s come a long way since I wrote a Government department’s manual for a brand new technology called ‘email’... and no, I don’t claim to have invented it.
I just translated a tech-speak manual to something non-tech public servants could follow. Lots of screen dumps included, with arrows and notes.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
You are probably going to be more noisy than us Dot. xxxx
Our gov has announced that we can have no more than 5 people visiting the house now. Seems they are getting serious. Only for the "greater Sydney and Central Coast" So Shirley, who lives across the lake from us, is considered Lake Macquarie and can have as many visitors as she wishes. We are part of Central Coast council area and even tho we are on Lake Mac, we still have to obey. Really, now that we have had a family Christmas, I am happy to stay at home alone and just get on with living. New Year is not really such a big deal for us. Each to their own. Looks like more internet shopping is going to be happening here, our shops are getting too feral for me to risk it. Distancing and masks seem to have gone out the window.
