The way the Trump states are going, Natural Selection will see 100% of the (remaining) US population vaccinated.

How in the Fec**N H*ll can this be attributed to Trump ?
Political beliefs are great but attributing someone's death to a Political leader is just a little too much for even me.
His own choices may, or may not, have attributed to his death, I don't think Trump would have even come in the hold his hand for being a supporter.

Unless you are blinded by being a supporter of the "other guy" you will see the new wave of the virus that is hitting the US at the moment, is worst in the southern states that are Trump/Republican voting states with the lowest vaccine rates(which all are) and now the highest death rates. I think that all what was said in the post.

 I still don't see how Trump can be made responsible for the death rate, unless the virus can only affect the Republican Voters and leaves the Democrats smiling all the way to the healthy side.
But then the virus isn't selective is it ? :?:

Ron,
The virus is not selective, but the choice to be protected by vaccine is.
Trump pooh-poohed the severity of the virus and his rabid followers, as pointed out above, are choosing not to protect themselves, and they're paying the price.
The radio commentator was described in the article as a "Nashville-based conservative radio talk show host" — journalists' code for a Trump supporter. Just as "military strong man" is code for a dictator.
You know the saying, "What goes around comes around."
Valentine was spouting precisely the Trump line about the "myth" of Covid, chose not to be vaccinated and it came back to bite him on the bum. Karma.

jon_d wrote: Mon Aug 23, 2021 4:41 pm Ray, I'm sure there will be people in your close circle who are worried about being vaccinated, or worryingly, don't believe in it.
Will you be feeling the same joy if they pass?
Jon,
It has already happened.
Friend swallowed the Trump story hook, line & sinker. Said it was a conspiracy to introduce mind-control & poison everyone!
Almost died. Still doesn't want vaccine!!
No sympathy. It was her choice not to be vaccinated.
Told her she's not welcome to visit anymore... unless she changes her mind and gets vaccinated.
Have not heard from her since.
I don't consider it a great loss, and I'm not 'rending my garment' over her.

Is this yet another way the Darwin principles are flushing the gene pool? If the conspiracy theory believers choose to deny the science and as a result die from their belief, yet those that believed the science, got the vaccine and live through the pandemic to see a very different world out the other side, wouldn't that be natural selection at work?

As far as a political leader supporting and pushing conspiracy theories resulting in the death of a large number of their support base, that is a sort of political natural selection ... or political suicide ......

I love' it when politics hits a forum or facebook!!!
At present I'm banned from Dot's address ..... until I eventually get my turn for first jab.
The number of jabs being sacrificed for NSW & Viccy might delay my turn until next year perhaps?

Chemist near Coles in Murray Bridge, booked a spot for the three of us, all three of use done in under 30 mins, second jab on the 5th. No excuse really, the vaccine is available, maybe just not the one you might prefer .... after the side effects of getting a very minor dose of Covid, I sure don't want the full bells and whistles version ...... To see a good friend or loved one go through that torture call the Corona virus would be terrible, to go through it yourself could well be fatal, imagine how you'd feel if it was you that infected the friend or loved one and then had to watch them go through the horror ......

Point taken Terry.
At the time we booked it there were no chemists or even the nominated Dr's in the Bridge that could do it. (About 10 wks ago)
Now they can but with just over a week to go I really think I'll just wait it out.
Might come & say goodbye before we go & get it just in case .....!!
