Morning all.
No Bernie. I'm thinking about it. I'm releasing all the nuts.
Almost there. Today I'll slip the fork lift in and remove the front mounts. Then with some luck, it will roll out.
About 1200 kgs out pure Japanese diesel power.

Good Morning All. 14* and sunny with 19* forecast.
Bob, approx where in Port are you now located? We called there 2 weeks ago on our way back from Nerang to have a look at what the timeshare (Vacation Village) we used to own is now being use for, all now rented apartments.

"tanks" here---
It is Wednesday again, so that means that I am off to the GP for the latest Blood test results and the interpretation of the Abdominal CT Scan, and the Full Spinal CT Scan. I have a copy of the Report, but this means zilch to me as it is all in technical terms and big long words.
I don't think any of this is going to make me live a happier life.
I am off to Wyalkatchem for a long weekend Thursday morning.
I am unsure of the signals out that way, so I may be absent for a few days.
Keith.

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Re: Good morning daily
I have a new phone ... actually new, not a Margaret hand-me-down ......
Margaret spent yesterday getting it going and getting what we could off the old phone, but without a screen the old phone is proving to be difficult to the very end
Had a very interesting visit yesterday lunch time that went till after 5pm, would have been longer I but he was supposed to be in a meeting in Adelaide at 4pm and his wife would be wondering why he wasn't home ..... He was from the SA Fire Service and the lead trainer for getting the fire fighters up to speed regarding lithium battery fires. It was Margaret's T1 Lithium website that has him coming to us for information, he said there was more information there, in plain speaking, than he had found over the last 6 mths he has been on the project ..... Margaret needs a bigger hat now
I was stunned to learn how much they didn't know and how much they had completely wrong ..... like trying to put an EV fire out with a hose ...... I asked if any fire fighter would consider trying to put a major electrical fire out with a hose, then why would they consider putting water on a live 700vdc to 970vdc power supply that won't trip out when it senses a short circuit? That seemed to stop him in his tracks, then I added, the water stream would act like a cable connection and not only would the person holding the hose become an appliance, the truck it was pumping from would be as well, the water on the ground would create the other path to complete the circuit and DC kills with a whole heap more pain than AC does, so they don't die quietly .....
We went through the various types of lithium cells, the different appliances they might be in and how to contain the fire.
About the best advice I could give him was, a phone or computer or e bike/scooter/hoverboard/ fire, the operator tells the caller to empty sand onto it until someone arrives to take over the control of the fire. The sand will melt into a sort of glass casing, separating the cells to try to contain the fire to a few cells rather than it spreading across the whole lot in thermal runaway. The fire will be contained under the glass casing and stop it from spreading .... the cobalt will finally run out of oxygen to supply the fire and it will go out.
With an EV battery fire, just like a truck diesel fire, a petrol fire or a gas fire, isolate the area and let it get on with what it is going to do no matter what you try, it will burn until it runs out of fuel.
Don't do the crazy thing and attempt to cut the battery cables, the arc will turn bolt cutters into balls of flying molten metal and the person holding them into a screaming crispy fried mess .... The various foams used for oil fires and a special one recently developed for electrical fires might help contain the fire to an area so they can get people to safety, but the battery contains enough energy to keep the fire going for hrs .... just like truck diesel tanks and big petrol tanks, the advantage is, the battery fire won't run down the nearest drain and set that on fire as well ....
The most important thing was to build up a library of all the battery isolation points for all the different manufactures and determine which ones can be accessed without risking life, and those that need a serious talk with the manufacturer and Aust standards to locate some where accessible .... batteries under the floor are great for a low centre of gravity and ease of mass production assembly, but having the isolation switch under the floor is not a clever move .....

Did he see the shed?
Engine is out. Definitely something wrong. In neutral, turning the output shaft there is a scraping sound in the same spot on each revolution.
I feel better now.

Re: Good morning daily
Terry, thank you for that valuable information.
Our solar system has a lithium battery under the house. It is made by LG who are doing a lot of recalls at the moment...due to fires. Luckily ours is not part of that recall, but we are having a software update done on it as an extra safety precaution by LG. With your information, when we finally return home, I think it might be overkill, but a good precaution to have a bucket of sand near the battery. It wont hurt to be prepared, so thanks for making me think about the precautions.
