Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

If it was going to last 10 years or so, it would pay to get one of those chassis and flop a glass body pick up truck on it. And maybe get a fiver or something and hang that off the back.
If I was lucky enough to own an XY ute I would leave it original

Wish I did.

The gearbox.

The shaft is about 2 foot long and 2 1/2 inches wide

Is that the bottom shaft ? The bearing surfaces all look OK.
But it's a bit hard to tell, it gets a bit blurry when I enlarge the pic.

T1, its a bit of a Catch 22 situation isn't it. The general public are reluctant to take up widespread use of elec vehicles, because of a perceived lack of accessible charging stations. And the companies that are installing the charging stations can't put them everywhere at once. They obviously have their prioritised areas to attend to first.
I have noted though, the Mulwala Ski Club has used solar panels to cover the entire car park and put in a 6 berth charge station.
I don't suppose that it's far off from the whole roof panel of a vehicle being an entire solar panel, like the original solar cars on the Darwin-Adelaide race.

They'll have to put the boats on trailers to charge them. Why not put the charger near the water?

Main shaft Dave. The lower shaft is all keyed.

Jon, I think the idea is to give all the travellers that turn up from Vic, the opportunity to charge up their wheels while they are inside belting the pokies. I don't think there are too many old Nana's from Mulwala that play pokies own a car, let alone e an electric one. Elec scooters not included.

So, Dave, how do they charge the electric boats then?

It's quite simple Jon, you just use an electric boat charger.
