Good Morning All. 31* here already, aircon on in the house when it hit 21*.
Dot, Beth went into hospital on 7/9 and came home on 14/9. She is showing slight improvement daily and when in bed is sitting up and managing to get out of bed for short periods and go for a short walk. A practitioner of sorts is supposed to visit weekly but as yet no sign.

Re: Good morning daily
Don't yah hate it when you do dumb shitte
The red triangle of death was still coming up on the Prius dash, so I left it with both batteries disconnected over night to see if it was just stored fault codes .... and closed the rear hatch ....
No 12v battery, no hatch opener and the access to the 12v battery is in the boot RHR corner.
This morning, scrambled over all the stuff in the boot and back seat area and reconnected the 12v battery, opened the rear hatch, re installed the traction battery fuse holder that doubles as the main isolator ..... bingo, everything worked ... back out the driveway and realised I'd left the house unlocked and Margaret had taken Brian to Murray Bridge ..... left the car going, locked up the house, when I returned to the car, the red triangle of death was on again, but it seemed to drive ok ... so I took it for a long drive ..... yeah, second dumb move, at about the point I was as far away from the house as possible on my drive ... it died ...... Disconnect the 12v battery, wait 5 mins, reconnect and off we went again, but only about 1/2 the distance this time, repeat the above procedure, reached the long down hill bit and by then 1/2 the functions had stopped, but I got as far as the driveway before it cut out completely again .... FFS .... then the light bulb moment struck .... did you check the battery cooling fan ..... sure enough, full of lint and dog hair .... it seems possible the original battery problem may have been a blocked fan ....

And now, you can put that on a Web pages or YouTube or something, so all the other Prius drivers can check the battery cooling fan. On behalf of all the Prius drivers of the worl (don't worry, I'm not a Prius owner) I thank you T1.

Maybe a lesson learnt? Keep you car clean, including the boot.

Morning everyone.
I do dumb shite most days sometimes Carol doesn't see and I get away with it
I didn't do much yesterday. Still relaxing from shed building...I still have the edging to do.
Sorted more stuff to take to neighbor's garage sale. I received notification that the new bore pump will be here next Monday...which in reality means it will be in Biggenden....courier's wont come the extra 5ks to our place.
That was about the most I done yesterday.
Where are you Jon??
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Good morning all from beautiful sunny Rothwell but very dry. Just got a nice surprise when checking saving account. On 6th, the day after the QRIDA commenced the grant to obtain dollars to upgrade white goods we bought a new fridge as 17 year old one due to die. The purchase has to be 4star or more. Came home that day and submitted a 10 page application, on line, for a $600 rebate as low income, eg pension. Did not expect to see for at least a month but in account yesterday.

George

What annoyed me was I didn't consider the problem being a battery over heat and just assumed it was a battery failure due to age and the fact it was a s/h battery when fitted by the taxi mob in 2015.
The battery part works fine now, but there appears to be other issues now that are causing an out of balance wheel feeling in the LHF under acceleration, but vanishes as soon as the throttle is eased off a bit .... and the dreaded ASB pump failure light is on ..... and the dash is back to the intermittent operation on start up ......
I think I'll transfer the battery to the silver Prius, it only has 268,000 km from memory, yet it's 2 yrs older .... I might just remove the battery cooling fan and clean it first

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. Same as yesty, another bright sunny day for us. No rain in sight. But we need it. Have been putting a fair bit of water on the garden and grass for the past few days. I heard the stormbird yesty, but he's not making the 'it's going to rain' noise.
Have a top day everybody, safe travels.
What's the latest with the gearbox rebuild Jon?
