Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

It is freezing here in down town Horsham. The diesel heater has run out of fuel, just as I got up I might add, so no warming happening and the frost on the grass hasn't melted yet .... welcome to sunny Victoria
Yet another day attempting to make the most of the camera set up till we get to Wollongong, then I'll look for a specialist shop that might be able to direct me on just what cameras to use where.
Maybe we will be back on the road today, a headlight was out on the Prius and after much muttering, I managed to get the globe out without removing the front bumper and headlight assemble.
Thinking I'd be a clever lad, I asked to pick up a pr of LED replacement low/high beam H4 base globes. When they arrived, they have a big transformer/heat sink on the back, no hope of getting them back in the space between the fuse box and the back of the headlight, no interest at all in removing the bumper so I can get the headlight shell out, so back to the original H4 halogen bulbs it seems  So much for being a clever lad

You can be forgiven for thinking these vehicles were designed by English Engineering Graduates.
The English never let the chance to use 32 (?) bolts, where 4 were found by other\ designers as almost over-engineering.
I have noticed over the years as a Mechanic the pretty look at me came at the cost of actually working on the mongrels.
A major job just to replace a headlight globe shows a lack of design, and it's not just the Prius that has this fault.
Hence the "English Engineering" statement.

Very late good morning from me. I'm back up at Mulwala again. I've been to my mate the scrap dealer's yard and got some treasure. Got a funny little short leg boot last. It's a rough casting but interesting. And a few other bits and pieces too.
I then went over to Kyneton area again, spent a cuppla days playing with my little 2yo grandson. Got back here late yesty arvo. Driving along the road from Benalla isn't much fun after dark.
We will spend most of tomorrow packing up all the 'stuff' that we have acquired over the past month or so. Then head home Tuesday sometime. It's getting too cold down here.
Safe travels everybody.
Cheers

Some of them you needed to be built with very short legs but gorilla length and strength arms to just drive them, the Detomaso 90 was one of those. A 351 4v aluminium head Ford Clevland, shoe horned mid mount in front of a ZF 5 sp tranaxle. Spaghetti exhaust similar to the GT40 yet a single plate clutch.
With an engine developing close to 500 hp, 10 x 15 wheels on the rear and 8 x 15 on the front. If the driver didn't over rev it in first and second, in a traffic light gran prix, bending pushrods, then a poorly timed shift to third and clutch release saw the clutch disappear in a cloud of smoke. For around 3 mths I had near a permanent booking for 3 days a week either rectifying over rev damage or replacing clutches.

In the end, an 8,500rpm rev limiter and dual plate clutch sorted it ... then he sold it  No one would race him any more
Another one was a 2.5 ltr V6 4wd Japanese/European crossbreed thing that I can't remember the name at the moment. It required the engine to be lifted and moved forward just to get to the fuel filter. A very nice looking car, went like the wind, but a back breaking nightmare to work on.

Good morning everyone. Its -2° here, right now. Everything is white outside. I might just stay indoors til the sun's up.
The only thing on the agenda today is to get all our travel prep done, ready to head toward home tomorrow.
Safe travels if you out and about. I hope all those on the sick list are feeling better today.
Cheers

Good morning All.

I decided to do some mowing yesterday and managed to get the front verge done before the mower died.
I decided to check the spark plug and realised that all my tools are in the MH at Wollongong so started chasing around Bunnings etc for a plug removing socket which doesn't require a socket wrench and haven't been able to locate one.

I might have to give up.

Some where out in the ether is this morning post. So to recap, the plan was to leave Horsham this morning, that turned out to be 4:30, we have reached a town by the name of Donald, parked up behind the pub and went in for a meal. Top feed, good beer, busy but not particularly noisy, well worth the stop over if anyone's travelling out this way.

Got the cameras up and running, would you believe they have microphones in them... after maybe 500 mtrs, the wind noise was all to much so I turned them off  All else has failed, so tomorrow, I'll get the book out that came with the 9" monitor and try to figure out how to turn the sound off

Still haven't sorted the exhaust that goes between the muffler and vertical stack, but no smell, so that's a good thing.
Managed to break the corner of the front inside mirror, another 7 yrs to go with the rear one I broke, means I've got at least another 14 yrs to live to suffer the accumulated bad luck, so I should keep going till I'm 83
