Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Update on the rainfall. We had 24mm overnight til 9.00am.
And it's still raining.
Don't reckon much will be achieved today, again.
Cheers

Didn't those Russian Ural have the sidecar on the wrong side and had to be either removed, or the chair had to be extensively modified to go on the left hand side.
I do remember they were so cheap you could buy two, one for spares, and still have plenty of change compared to buying a BMW 900/6 ..... the model at that time.
They weren't fast, or fuel efficient, but as you say, they went anywhere.

They come in left and right hand drive, haven't ridden one but knew a bloke who had one decades ago and he seemed to have a bit of trouble with breaking down. Couldn't keep up with my yammie 1100 and double chair loaded, but it went places I hesitated going. But back then you did it anyway and an outfit can go just about anywhere, if you get bogged you just hop off and push a bit (passenger that is).

Spent the day clearing debris from around the place and trying to clean out the workshop and get the backhoe going, which has been very frustrating and have one more thing to do and if that doesn't work, blow the bloody thing up

Is this the one with the 3 cylinder Perkins engine? Worked on a lot of these, from backhoes, pumps, welders, road rollers, rail track equipment, compressors, even a few transportable cranes ....
Besides have summer fuel still in the tank and the over night emp dropping below zero, the diesel lift pump is their biggest weakness. I fixed most of them by adding an electric lift pump so the injector pump always had positive pressure, and in the cold weather, a rag tied with a length of welding wire, dipped in the fuel tank, set a light and held in front of the air intake until it fired and ran for a few mins ..... only lost a few rags down the intake, the sparks keep coming out the exhaust for hrs
In the really, really cold, where you can't get the diesel rag to light, a rag soaked in a mix of petrol and diesel, or even soaked in petrol and then dipped in the diesel to slow the flame a bit. Once they are running, compression isn't really an issue with these engines, even dribbling injectors, but the injection pump sucking air or not enough heat in the precombustion chamber to fire the fuel in the first start up .... forget it .....
In Tassie and out on the Bogan Gate rail line near Parkes, it got cold enough we had to light a fire in a drum and put it under the sump to warm the engine up enough that the starter could spin it over

Good morning...
We are back, and Carol has a sore back 😁.
Coincidence Terry, Carol's Dad was from Bogan Gate.
We had a relaxing weekend except for the heat...
Saturday was overcast all day, but we couldn't see that till the fog lifted... thickest I've seen.
Almost had a fish 🐠 story cept it broke me Off 🤬.
Was good to run the motorhome... instead of sitting in the shed...
We had Storm clouds all around yesterday arvo but only got a little shower...and light rain ☔ falling at the moment.
All for now...
No change for those who know
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Good morning everyone. It looks like our storms have passed now. It's a beautiful sunny morning here. Might get a bit steamy and humid later though.
Because it was too wet to do anything constructive yesty, Terrie decided that she would rip out a lot of fish fern and make a space for more cactus garden. That translates to, I was levelling up some ground, and laying pavers in the rain.
But she did make us both a nice lunch.
We are off to the big green shed shortly to pick up some essential supplies, so I'm told.
Glad to here you are back safe Bernie. Tell Carol to rest up.
Safe travels everybody.
Cheers

Good morning 20c, clear blue sky slight breeze N/E maximum predicted 30c.
We've had a couple of short lived storms, thunder lightning & a little rain pass over us heading up the lake in the last week, weird weather.

We've been busy, I have checked in on the forum, off for Bruce's scheduled eye injection today & tomorrow I have appointment to have skin cancer surgery on my nose
I had hearing checked, aids range in price from $3,000 to $12,000 think this is the latest way to rip people off & so many different companies offering to supply same

Morning all.

Off to Taggerty today. I've been trying to get tyres for the Territory. None in stock. Found some, paid but then discover they are the wrong load rating.

Trying to sort it out before I leave.

Neighbours open days are very quite. Seems there are a few places for sale but no one is buying.

Yep massey ferguson 3 cylinder, put a electric fuel pump on it, got plenty of fuel at the injectors now after cleaing the fuel system for the 3rd time. Used areostart to get it going, it ran for about 30seconds then slowly dies and only areostart keeps it firing. Considering it fires on areostart, haven't looked at the air cleaner but will do that today and it's an oil bath cleaner, but as the areostart gets through doubt it's the air supply but could be wrong. Other than that, have no idea as it's still displaying the same symptoms when the trouble started. Starts then dies.

Cloudy day, no wind off for a surf before tackling the backhoe and workshop clean out, got a big pile of stuff outside now and will have to work out what to do with it and mostly metal junk now. Will load up the tip truck with all the metal and cash it in, in Hobart.

The Ford Cargo had that problem, turned out to be air leaks in the pick up and also in the return lines .... these were cause by the plastic pipe melting as a result of the workshop fire. A piece of rubber hose to replace the pin holed and completely melted bits, away it went.
