Good morning everyone. Another copy and paste day coming up for us. 29⁰ with a chance of a storm.
Glad you got some rain, up there in Elsewhere, Bernie. The garden will love it.
I spent most of yesty cleaning the front of the Winny, it hasn't been done properly for a while. Might get the rest done today, or not. We might go look at fridges too.
The power RCD tripped through the night. Reset ok, but a bit concerning. I hope nothing has let the smoke out.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everybody. Safe travels.
Good morning daily

Re: Good morning daily
Finally have the second locking track in the awning roller drum and the anti flap kits fitted. Discovered the anti flap kit doesn't include the curved centre supports, need to order 2 sets of those as well now
Might look at anti flap kits for the Thule awnings while I'm at it.
After third coffee, I might get back to assembling this second battery ...... work stopped when the drill bit wouldn't cut into the stainless strapping, started with the idea of rewiring the bench grinder, then remembered the Lions club had their garage sale on at the showground Sat morning, thought I might score one there .... but no such luck, but did buy a small compressor for $30 and a drill and jigsaw and power board and .... can't remember what else
seems the 3 day rest hasn't sharpened the drill any, so maybe a two stage hole drill will be required .... if I go to Bunnings that will be the end of anything getting done today and I'll probably come home with a bench grinder as well as drill bits and ...... you know how it goes .....

Re: Good morning daily
Ummm..... ordered the curved roof rafters, seems we need 3 for each awning at a bit under $400 delivered ..... the anti flap for the Thule awnings might need to go on the back burner for a while ..... minister for war and finance is starting to feel the head spin from signing up for the $35,000 to buy the MG4 ...... less than half the price for the Winnie and around 1/4 the price for the Fuso by the time stamp duty was added ......
I'm still on shaky financial legs after buying that trailer
Still, as long as we are spending it all, the kids won't be able to fight over it when we fall off the perch ......

Yep, the trick is to have enough while you're still on the perch.I'm still on shaky financial legs after buying that trailerStill, as long as we are spending it all, the kids won't be able to fight over it when we fall off the perch ......
What is 'scary' is the amount you need to buy into a good assisted living facility where you're treated well, fed well and looked after.

I'm with you Bernie. Hopefully, I'll stay active and healthy enough until I fall off the perch.
We have an old ex rello just turned 96 still living in her own home. She is starting to forget a few things and the family has installed a few cameras through the house and yard so she can be monitored remotely.
Her grand daughters check in with her on a daily basis, as she flat out refuses to go into assisted living

In our case, it was the best thing mum and dad ever did. (They moved in at 90 and 92)
Dad was getting the health care he needed. Mum was and is getting the food she stopped cooking. Mind you, it is close to 5 star.

Just have enough kids that all think they can gain favour and inherit the lion's share by looking after you until you do fall off the perchjon_d wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 4:28 pmYep, the trick is to have enough while you're still on the perch.I'm still on shaky financial legs after buying that trailerStill, as long as we are spending it all, the kids won't be able to fight over it when we fall off the perch ......

Actually, the Super has enough to buy us into a very nice spot to see out our last yrs, if that is needed, but neither of us have a family history of hanging on to the very end, 6 weeks between all's great with the world and them saying nice things about us are the coffin heads off through the curtains ..... or probably in our case, till they load us back in the funeral wagon, they all line up either side to pay last respects, then the party starts so everyone can say we went out hosting a monumental party and p*ss up
