Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

gees! Over 4" in the old money?
One day it may rain around Mannum!
Then again down South if we get rain too early for the season to break, all we get are (summer) weeds. Any clovers or other feed for stock will only burn off in the next hot spell.
Old time farmers used to pray for a proper break for Anzac day & not before.
I noticed a couple of farmers are dry sowing their crops to try to get an early start.
The water level in the Murray is a worry. My boat front deck is roughly 2' below the walkway.

Good morning everyone. We've had steady rain overnight. About 30mm in the gauge now. It's either a shed day or a pub day. I think the pub will win. Too wet for outside work.
Bruce, I'd be thinking that in the next month or so, the river level will come up again. All the rain in Central Qld is going to end up somewhere.
Most of the horse races on the east coast are called of today as the tracks are too wet. So, this rain event is fairly widespread.
I hope it's doing good somewhere. I was just talking to my son. A friend of his has just turned up at Lightning Ridge. There isn't a dry patch of ground to unload the horses from the float.
Safe travels all those out and about.
Cheers
David

It will require rain in Nth West Qld for it to ever get here from that state ...... and enough to flood all the irrigation properties along the way so they don't pump it all out before it reaches the Murray, that was what happened last time ......

Big rain west of the Great Divide will end up here in the river, it needs a flush big time ..... as for rain here in Mannum, we had some yesterday afternoon, a lot more than a normal Mannum rain storm, nearly enough to get wet if you were out in it and possibly created a puddle in a few spots ...... just enough to get the humidity up really.

If they can hold the rain off until the end of April, it'd be much appreciated, water running under the Winnie makes it less than desirable for crawling around.

I'm sort of doubtful the solar will happen before we go, the body is not real happy with the work rate now, so no hope of hurrying it up any .......

Dave,
If you didn’t pack one before setting off on your trip, I suggest now would be a good time to invest in a canoe or kayak…
😳

Terry I think you meant South West Qld rather than Nth West.
A lot of Qld is in the "Channel Country" & that goes into Lake Eyre if it makes it that far.
Light blue is the Murray Darling catchment area.

Any of the recent drenching up there will be stolen long before it gets any way near SA

EDIT: Maybe South Central Qld rather than ? West.

South central Qld and nth NSW it might be, anyway, as Bruce said, I doubt much of it will get this far down, just about all the lower Murray water licences were bought up by those that sold their upper Murray Darling licences for a small fortune so nothing was gained as far as water getting down here to flush the system, it just lined a lot of pockets ...... which govt was responsible for that?

Would that be the same gubment that allowed Cubbie Station to be sold to overseas interests? They have since sold it, but now, those same 'oversea interests' own nearly all the egg producers on the east coast.
