Morning all..
I spent most of the day fiddling with the Hino awning, I should put a meter on the work platform to count how many times I climbed up
I might get serious about the awning track I will see if it's the same as what came in the parcel... I've tried removing the original but it's proving to be better than me
And it's where the new one.needs to be
.
I'm almost at the stage where I can fit the roller.. but not yet..
I didn't get to the chemist
.. today maybe..
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
Morning all, an early start to avoid getting fried later in the day, it's supposed to be a real hot one here today.
If that sailtrack is glued on, try a heat gun to make the sticky release ..... it will stick again as soon as it cools even a bit, so you will need to keep moving the scraper along, bit at a time, to get it away from the Hino body

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. Another nice day coming up for us, unlike down south.
I spent half of yesty removing the crappy little solar panels and cables from the Winny. For reference, Mr Winnebago only used 6 x 15mm 4g self tappers to hold down each panel. Screwed straight into the plywood under the membrane roof. Hmmm.
Off to the dentist today, so not much else will get done.
Stay hydrated all those out in the heat. Wear a hat.
Safe travels everybody.

Re: Good morning daily
It's a tad warm down this way at the moment, 26*C at 6am, 30*C by 7:30, 33*C by 9:30, but add another 5* or more each time the sun peaks out from behind the cloud cover ..... last about 30 mins at a time out there at the moment, but progress is being made .....
Phosphoric acid soaking in the radiator header tank at the moment, trying to make it clean enough to see if there is any coolant in it .....

Re: Good morning daily
Been very worried about you Terry when I saw your early post!!! Goodonyer mate!!
It's a difficuplt job cleaning out the water coolant system when it's difficult to know what mixture of metals the manufaturer has used thru out.
It can result in causing more damage. Yes, I know it's just the header tank but ......
Have you back flushed the heater hoses/ system?
Keep up the moisture intake!!

Re: Good morning daily
Warm day up here today. Finished doing a tonneau cover and a little red stool for a lady in town this morning and delivered them before it got too hot. The tonneau was going to be a fix up job on the old one but decided it was too stuffed. Making the cover is quite easy but cutting around the bars and keeping it tight is a total pain. First taste of summer today so it will be an inside day from here. Cheers

Re: Good morning daily
The header tank is hanging off the side of the truck tray. Half filled with potent mix of phosphoric acid and water, 5 parts water/1 part 98% concentrated phosphoric acid. Roll the tank with one side down and leave for an hr, drain it back out into a Bruce ice cream container, flush with the air and water gun, the tap water runs constant and squirts of 120 psi air shifts the flakes if I can get to them, but there is a barrier wall up the centre.BruceS wrote: ↑Thu Dec 04, 2025 11:21 am Been very worried about you Terry when I saw your early post!!! One side done and looks better, the other side is soaking now .....
Around $100 for a replacement, but Jan before it gets here .....
The cooling system is a mix of aluminium heads, and thermostat housing, black plastic inlet manifold, brass and aluminium/manganese mix heat exchanger for the LPG, no idea what the water to oil heat exchanger is made out of but I'm guessing pressed steel sheeting, and the block is cast iron with a cast steel water pump and this semi clear plastic water bottle. The radiator is those black plastic tanks and a crimped on aluminium radiator ........I don't think there are many more metals that react with each other that could be added to this cooling system
Tried to fit the bottom rad hose, the curled lip of the bottom right hand fan just contacts the rad hose and would end up burning the fan motor out ...... get the fan spinning and put the flapper disc on the angle grinder and remove some plastic is the plan ..... later, just too hot to stay out there for more than an hr, even moving from one shade spot to the next ......
