Terry.....
What about something like this....
https://www.vevor.com.au/hydraulic-gear ... 0902783817?
can you sit it on top of the pin and two jaws clip on "your" plate (with a center hole) at the bottom. Then push the pin out the bottom?

I seem to remember Bernie had problems getting a kingpin out of a precious motorhome .... or was that something else?jon_d wrote: ↑Fri Feb 27, 2026 3:38 pm Terry.....

I'm looking at building something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLd7YgQEDuA but using a 20 ton jack against the top plate to push down against the jammed tie rod ends and later to get the kingpin out it that has a similar problem.
Bought a set of these deleted double link https://www.temu.com/au/5pcs-front-end- ... mvg7wk9xpl the bigger fixed jaw one and the 2 arm puller won't budge either of the tie rod ends, the simply lever arm type unit isn't big enough to fit, so I'm back to making the plate type puller again.
The humidity here is probably like they call the build up to the wet season in the top end, soaked through and the hair raining after around 10 mins outside .... that storm must be coming soon .....

Set of what? The link is the video.
My idea is the same as the video. The hydraulic puller replaces the threaded bolt. And it gives you the points to attach the pullers drop arms to the lower cross member.
How will you attach the hydraulic jack?

Fixed the link error .....
The jack will go under the top plate, screw side up, and a suitable spacer to push the pin out under the foot of the jack.
As you can see in the video, those two big steering link arms that go through the king pin pivot, doesn't provide much in the way of places to position the legs that would hold the pressure required to move the pin out of the axle eye, it has been there for 26 yrs ... naturally, if the axle eye is flogged out, it will be much easier to remove ..... but I still have to get these tierod end out first .....
