Tanks I have one of those little heaters.
I also have a little one burner cooker.
Both take those same butane canisters.
Both items are very compact and light for storage.
I quite often light up the little heater for half an hour in the morning if it's frosty.
It's the ONLY way I can get the Boss-Lady out of bed to make my coffee!!! (I can never do it properly!!)
Bunnings often have packs of the gas on special. I buy a few & store them up.
The heater can be tilted forward or backwards. (To protect the floor or bench top)
Recommended by me!!
Oh.......... they both have "auto-start" feature that don't require matches. (Pieza ?? sp?)

Make sure you have a very loud cabon monoxide alarm if you plan to use the heater inside. That way if you go down for the count Russell will find someone to stop the bloody noise
The 500w/1000w fan heater or oil column heater would be a tad less deadly, you have survived too many great adventure to have something silly like that take you out before your time.

"tanks" here --T-1, I followed your advise and I now have an electric heater that the 1.5 kva will handle. It makes the early morning a lot more comfortable for the Old Bones, and "Russell" likes it, but tends to hog the space when it is on.
I feel safer with the electric unit as I was concerned with a gas unit---an open fire in a "box on wheels" was a concern to me.
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.
