I think for a good result you have to be prepared to exercise, exercise & exercise get the new knee mobile, no pain no gain. The neighbour opposite has had both his knees replaced one a few yrs ago the other beginning of this yr, he is now riding his push bike again.

After I had a couple of stents put in, I saw the specialist as an outpatient. He prescribed some tablets and said "You'll be on these for the rest of your life". When I read the script there were THREE repeats.

Re: Holed up in the Bus.
Well it's over, I now have a new left knee and it feels great, still some pain but it is steadily easing.
Been back home in the Denning for two weeks now and I'm feeling better every day. The knee has made a huge difference to me and I can now move about without the fear of falling flat on my face. Looking forward to getting back on the road and catching up with everyone, maybe if all goes well we will be at Walker Flat.
Thanks to everyone for their support and well wishes, this may not be the biggest forum, but it is by far the friendliest and happiest.

Glad to hear it's going so well Steve, I'll be looking at a similar rebuild up the road soon (unless this stem cell thing proves to be a fix) and after seeing one fella at physio go from near cripple to return to work fitness in a few weeks, while I remain at the maintenance level, combined with your success story makes the prospects for the future not quite so gloomy

Re: Holed up in the Bus.
Terry I wasn't looking forward to having it done, I can vividly remember the pain after the accident and didn't really want to go through that again unless I really had no choice.
I can honestly say I am in considerably less pain than I have had for the last ten years and I can actually feel it decreasing every day. It will never be totally gone but I don't think it will rule my life like it once did, I'm very glad I did it and would recommend it to you.
Like you mine is the result of an accident and the TAC in Victoria are like all other insurance companies, they tried to say that it was age related, non accident etc, so as you already have learnt dig your heels in and don't give them any ground!
