The B Doubles are starting to create the ripples up the concrete Hume Hwy on the big hills, so the tar won't stop it. A long road to resurface each time, grading the dirt regularly would probably be the easiest actually, but that's the way it goes.

He reporeted worst price he paid was $2.65 ltr. He says they plan to tar it soon, so i guess the $$ are being saved to go towards that rather than maintenance.
Terry Ive driven on some very rough roads ,but that was the worst. He must be kidding or was a sleep. There are 2 graders working this end just now and it was smooooths as ..
Taring all that will take years, they have done a small bit and the road base is down for some more, BUT MATE its a long way across there...
Some they could sweep and tar now ? But the NT end will need lots of work.....Taring soon in a pollys time ??? I wont see it..
We had a few laughs on the way, all the naughty petrol bousers are locked up, thats why I didnt do any thing wrong...!!
All good , Bob n Bev...

Dot Jackie is the mostest happyest travler that we have had, sleeps most of the day , But when we stop its ball time no matter what, tomorrow we head to the fishing grounds as fast as the little Land Rower can take us.
And we did see a few dingos and hear some at night, makes the hair on the neck stand up when one hears that howl at night.. You know you are in the bush when that happens...
We loved it alot..... Would we cross here again.. not just yet.

We just have to know more about that 'little bit of paper' Bob?
I've often wondered about those corrugations.
I'm thinking if there were a hundred pieces of weldmesh at each end for people to tow behind there utes, vans, trucks & pushbikes immediately after the road was graded then it's take a lot longer to stuff the road.
Tyres too tight & going like a bat outta hell doesn't help.
Some so go fast so you just touch the tops of each one!!! Yeah, right!!

Well a good day today,No wind we just zooomed along.. camped tonight near 380 camps 6 wa page 112. There is a short cut that saves going in to the big smoke of Geraldton, it comes out near camp 444 , saves around 120 ks..
Bruce the little bit of paper was the permit that should have been, the one we did have was wrong .. yep just forge a head its much easier , We had one for that day but the wrong state .Mate dont worry about corragations, you will know when they are there. Bevs still looking for her teeth under the seat !! Mine are shorter as I grind them when things are tense. See all good. Should be well on the way by tomorrow as Carnarvon is just up the road now... Bev says hi to Wendy.
Waves are corragations on the river , easy to under stand... Yep all it would take is a old tractor and a cattle grid and the road would be like new..But they would have to think about doing that......

Don't forget to stock up with WEIS BARS at Carnarvon ! The rate you are going you will be there before I leave the Wheatbelt.
Lucky you. Last night the temp was 9 degrees--out with the Tiger Balm for my muscle pain in the neck from welding up hill and overhead. I'll see you up there in a few weeks--
I will be heading to the 40 Mile Beach site as my first base before going to DOT"s GREAT SHAVE at Cleaverville. Ash & Wendy should still be at the 40 Mile Beach campsite when you and I get there.
If you see the "TANK" parked in a soft spot come over and have a cuppa. I don't walk very far at a time nowdays (they call it limited mobility) so it will be easier for me if you to walk over to me. I will phone the Gathered Mob of OZeRVnews Forum when I am about to arrive.
Keith.

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

 We tried that on the property down in Tassie, the next windy day the road moved into the shed and the office, needs the water and the heavy vibrating roller as well.
It was interesting watching the progress on the road upgrade down south of here, they dig up the dirt, seperate the clay, mix the crush rock they blasted out and cement powere and then rolled it back down, no road base at all. Could believe how fast they are tranforming the area from paddock to road, no idea what they do with the clay, maybe its used for the roadside verge reinforcing or something.

Concerning the GCR we, with Swisslulu & Chris Val from CF really enjoyed our 6 nights going across the Victoria Desert but then I guess each to his own as we love being "out there" . The country was beautiful, found our camp sites great and the only part of road which was not good was in the NT as far as Docker.

Hi All have slowed a little this arvo, only got as far as Carnarvon today and lucky me heard the squeek of a dry uni joint as we drove near the kerbing. Once heard never forgot. The bloody water from the aircon drips right on it, DER..
Yep have to replace 2 in the carden joint, dam Bev said... I took it off and locked the middle diff. so it went on the rear wheels...To easy right.. So we are sitting in the CP just over from woolies sevo. Dont like CPs.. People !!!.. Plenty of time to clean the dust out so Bevs happy... Me Im resting a little.. Jackies happy as more time to play ball....
If I can get the bits it should go together and be off in a day..... If not will go slow on 2 wheel drive to 40 mile see if they have bits up that way..
Clay in road base is a no no as it shrinks and grows to much with water Terry, then you get them soft spots...
We should write to them with all this info so they can get started on that road.... Smile guys ....its a dream..
Bob n Bev...
Bevs watchin Harry Brown, its so quite just now.....
