Its good to see that everything is going ok up there. When we were up there as kids we used to get the Grevillea flowers and put them in cool water for a lovely sweet drink (don't think you would see kids do that today) yeah there are lots of gems around up in the area just have to find where to look but alas I can't remember the right spots (must be craft) hopefully you find some. Say g'day to tanks for us and hopefully we will get a couple of crew call in on the way up. By the way love all the pics

Went fishing and crabbing at the tip of 40 Mile Beach (Pelican Point) and the mangroves a speccy little beach into the creek (Devils Creek) Later in the day Ash took the Kayak up further into the mangroves and caught a beautiful Muddy, the tide was going out so the creek got too low to go again....will go in again another day.
Pelican Point itself has mangroves both sides and speccy rock ledge, it's a nice drive on dunes overlooking the ocean all the way.
didn't prepare well enough and got hammered with midges (sandflies) Grrrrrrrrr no sleep for a few days!!!!

Supposed to get good rain Thurs & Frid but its been beautiful weather, tiny bit cool at night but lovely for sleeping, actually got slippers out last night as Bev and I were sitting outside waiting for Ash & Bob to come in from night fishing, but they came off as soon as we were inside cause they were too hot! Haven't unpacked the heater, let alone had it going yet.....ahhhhh bliss! :D

Looks great but the Kayak looks way to close to the swallow me holers for this little black duck, or maybe living in NQ I'm just a bit too wary of crocs

Yep There is a sign at 40 mile about beware of crocs but there is no signs of them, yep sharks are far more plentiful we've seen heaps, even right up close to shore here, idiots throw their fish bits in the water after cleaning them and wonder why the sharks come in so close, even when kids are swimming.......not the sharpest tools in the shed!!!! Caretaker flew up some twits earlier in the season for doing it.
2 sharks came right up eating the offal of one and tried to throw itself onto the edge of the water to grab the head of a fish some idiot left there!!!!! They were there for a long time it drew a crowd and photos were taken by the heaps! So for weeks they hover, checking out the area, til the next wanka chucks his fish bits in!? and starts the cycle again......needless to say I haven't been out in the Kayak since  Ash is braver though.
