Audi have relearse a turbo charged engine where the turbo is 48 volts electrically powered. This 48 volts comes from regen when slowing down and not from the alternator. The advantage of an electric turbo is that it works at rev levels where normal turbos cant work well at all. Their diesel turbo is up wuth the petrol v8s in drag sessions becasue the turbo doesnt need fast exhaust gas to start working. I just want a boost switch on my old canter engine to make it breathe better going up hills. Only turn the electric turbo one for a minute or two up a difficult hill.

Another idea is to use exess energy to run a compressor and air storage tank. Use the comepressed air to keep the grey and black water taks oxygenated, pump up tires, and could compressed air be used with a solenoid to give a boost to my engine for those tough hills? Maybe a touch of lpg in it would help too!

After much testing with T1 it has been found that the turbo in the bus is not working due to a lack of fuel.It has only been producing 4psi of boost as opposed to 10-11psi. Terry connected an lpg bottle into the air intake and as I drove up hill with full throttle he turned the gas on which produced a boost of 10-11 psi and the bus flew up the hill as if it had another gear.
I have thought of installing a gas bottle under the driver's seat so that i can give it a boost when going up hill or overtaking.
