Bernie, You need to use the right one. Only get the stuff in the purple and white bottle. It is in the cleaning aisle. Only sold at Bunnings. I will see if I can find a link. We have used it for a few years now and it seems to do the job successfully.

It would only cost $36 from Woolies for the equivalent amount, equivalent strength and this product does not store well.

Laundry Soaker and inwash Booster , Homebrand
Used to have 340g/l sodium percarbonate, but bought some yesterday and notice it s now only 280g/l
Given it is only a teaspoon or two a day, it lasts a very long time.

Coles has a similar product, but the granule sizes are uneven, and hence doesn't dissolve evenly. Avoid anything that also contains soap e.g. Nappisan.

Thanks, but the stuff I'm buying is 100% sodium Percarbonate, so you'd have to use 3 times as much of the home brand stuff for the same effect.

I'll let you know how I get on.

You only use 1tsp of the homebrand product, the usage for 100% sodium percarbonate would be so tiny (1/3 of a teaspoon) that it would be very difficult to dispense. And using too much is worse than not using enough. 5kg of 100% would last you nearly two years, and in that time you could expect the container to disintegrate and everything around it to rust. Sodium percarbonate is a very strong oxidant at 100% and at $30 there is no cost saving.
