A wind up, I think! ("Wind" as in winding someone up.)

So where does this OIL expert believe he will get oil or gas from in a few billion years, and besides none of us will care anyhow. Using solar is cheaper for us mobile people and besides I have not seen the energy companies offering us an option to have a cable installed around Australia so we can hook up like the trams.

I couldn't believe there actually was a "petroleum club" in Lafayette but mr google prooved me wrong (as usual
). So now its on my list of dinner dates - the meals seem quite reasonably priced- next time this joker is on the speaking list. Good comedians are hard to find

Re: Lithium Batteries, who has them?
pet-els wrote:Uncontained solar energy could irreparably damage the ecosystem and kill countless animals and humans, according to Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association President Chris John.
“A lot of people are suffering from the delusion that solar power is safe because it’s natural, but solar energy is radiation, for crying out loud! That stuff will kill you!” John told attendees of the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Lafayette. “If we start storing enough solar energy to replace what we’re using now and it leaks out, God help us all.”
He also challenged the notion that the sun is an inexhaustible source of power that would help America’s energy independence.
“Solar is not a renewable energy source. The sun will implode in a few billion years, which means it won’t be around forever,” John stated. “Plus, we’re trying to develop more energy from right here in America, so why would we spend billions importing energy from a source that’s 93 million miles away?
That’s just stupid.”
Now I've heard everything!
Where do the Yanks get these cloud-cukooland ideas
And just who do they pay to "import" solar energy
Do they pay import duties to the Gummint?
Regards & God bless,
