Hi Grizz,
we fill our water from rivers and lakes as often as needed, I have a second (spare) 12v sureflo water pump, fitted with standard hose bayonet fittings, and use that to pump the water through a dual 9" canister filter, the primary filter is a 3 micron sediment filter, and the second is a .5 micron charcoal filter, we filter all water into the tank, including town water, we were both raised on tank water, and don't particularly appreciate the taste of chlorine.
Life is a trip, to be enjoyed!

G'day Grizzz, I have a separate 110litre tank for river/creek water and a separate pump. I can divert the river water to the cold water in the shower and to the toilet while the fresh water (300litres) goes to the galley and the HWS. A third shurflo pump is used to pump the river water into the tank and also for a washing machine when needed. I don't filter it other than an inline sediment filter to keep the pump clear

Thanks for you're reply JohnM. I'm thinking of a triple pass 10" filter system. A. 1 then 5 micron sediment filter and a charcoal filter. Perhaps I'm being a bit paranoid?
Thanks for you're reply to the post

Hi ya Wilbur. Can you switch to the regular water tank if necessary? I like the toilet water diversion idea.
Thanks for sharing what you do Wilbor.
Great ideas here for sure 8-)

Yes, normally the main tank feeds everything, it's only when we pump up river water I divert it to the toilet and shower by turning 2 ballvalves, one opens up the river water water line and the other closes the freshwater line
