Re: Crazing of Solar Panels
I carried out another test this morning 10am before panels got hot and registered 34.4 amps.

Re: Crazing of Solar Panels
Looks like they are still generating OK George. Test again in 12 months?

Re: Crazing of Solar Panels
With 1000w at just over 30 volts into an MPPT controller, I would be expecting closer to 50 Amps being delivered to the battery in full sun at this time of the year. My system does have 1200w solar (6 x 200 watt x 36.7 volts) My Fangpusan 80 Amp "knock off" of Flexmax Outback 80 MPPT controller was producing 72 amps at 11.00 AM today. Had the 230 v electric hot water turned on to use some surplus energy

Re: Crazing of Solar Panels
Chris, are you supplying a 24V battery?

Re: Crazing of Solar Panels
No, I have a 600 AH LiFePO4 lithium battery 13.2V . With MPPT it is recommended the the solar input voltage is 10 - 25 volts higher than the battery being charged. I have by chance struck a fairly ideal balance as I regularly see mid to high 70's amps being pumped into my battery bank.

Re: Crazing of Solar Panels
Chris I would expect about 60 amps at 12v but at 24v exactly half thatnut17 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2017 1:59 pm With 1000w at just over 30 volts into an MPPT controller, I would be expecting closer to 50 Amps being delivered to the battery in full sun at this time of the year.
