Think hungry people would eat anything, personally don't think I would want to eat carp but then I wouldn't eat eel & heaps of people enjoy eating it. Now a flathead, bream, barramundi, coral trout or even Spanish mackerel on the barbie would be nice.

Friend at bowls went camping NP near Taree, NSW when they were packing up the trailer camper she was bitten on the toe by a rough scaled snake, I had never heard of them, husband put her in the 4x4 & drove to office, ranger was happy saying he had just done the course re treating snake bite, by this time she was having a panic attack anyway they called an ambulance, she was taken to hospital & given antivenin so all was good but today she tells us how unwell she has been apparently a reaction to the venin, really feeling giddy in the head & spaced out, husband told her not to drive.
Fortunately they took the snake that bit her to the hospital & it was identified.

Your friends hubby did the right thing Shirley. Rough Scaled snakes are quite common around the wetlands on the Gold Coast. Regarded as venomous.
The Safety Team at work have only just yesterday issued a directive that we must call an ambulance even if we 'think' someone has been bitten by a snake. I found a snake on the step of my van today. Luckily it was only a green tree snake, but we couldn't really be sure until it had evacuated the area behind the headlight were it managed to try and hide.

I certainly would take the thing to be identified but in a bucket. We saw a snake swimming across the river the other day, G got the big stick and pointed it in the right direction. yuck yuck yuck.

Nothing solid to press against it so it went sideways.

Re: Banal .. Open to any topic on and off topics etc
Hoax call, caller said it was our bank & wanting to know if we had transferred money to USA, told him to bugger off, he kept ringing back insisting it was legitimate & offered to transfer the call to our local bank to verify when he did this even after hanging up we couldn't call our bank number as soon as you entered the first 3 digits it would start ringing?? So we disconnected the phone line for twenty minutes, it seemed as though the caller had control of our phone line.
I went online & checked bank details all ok & then plugged phone line back in & reported scam to our bank.
Absolutely terrible feeling even though we suspected it a scam from the beginning.

Sounds scary Shirley, but you handled it well.
If it happens again, hang up asap and maybe even disconnect the phone then too. They will soon get that message.

Maybe hoping you would use your phone for internet banking to check your account. There are some devious bastards in this world always trying to get your money

I've had very good success pretending to be a witch doctor and putting an evil spell on him/her and their family.
