Are you still at Coober Pedy?

We found leaving just on sunrise was the best way to avoid the headwinds.
You could get 2-3 hours in before they started.

Don't think G would be able to get me out of bed to be gone by sunrise but we shall give it a good try, have to wait for the shops to open. :D

Yep, and they great in terms of wide space.

I pulled into something similar west of Marla and ended up changing the fuel filter in the morning.

Have not got any idea what happened with the pic thing Bruce :? Last night this machine just kept turning itself off every now and again. We are in CP refuelled and water topped up, cassettes emptied and G has gone shopping. I have a load of washing doing it's thing and am being entertained by the copper, he just sits in his car and roughly about every 10 minutes someone gets pulled over. Guess he goes a good business and doesn't need to go on patrol. This is surely a busy town and to top it off our friends who live here just happen to be in Adelaide  Had a bit of rain early hrs of the morning and it looks like there is more on it's way. Fuel here was $162.9 cpl. Was busting to watch the boys on bikes but no sbs2 anywhere to be found and my favourites are in this one as a lead up for the tour de France :( Copper got another one  Wouldn't mind a cent for every caravan that has gone by in the past hr and the water station does a roaring trade. Luckily I froze some bananas before we left, I have been able to have my smoothies every day, cost of bananas here is $4.99 kg. And the copper strikes again, wonder do they get a commission?

As far as I know, Dottie, they don't.
But you know from personal experience they have quotas.
Obviously your Rozzer had no difficulty reaching his!

Had one in Melb who sat on a main road in his beat-up old Corolla with the camera on the front bumper.
Locals (mostly) knew the car, but he still raked in the $$$$ from the young bucks & visitors.
One bloke was so bl**dy mad after (I believe) his 3rd ticket for the day, that he reversed his 110 Land Rover into the Corolla & bu&&ered the camera.

Didn't do him much good. The camera had an extreme close-up of his number plate... the data survived the impact.
(Hard drive was inside the car.) $1500 fine.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Back to reception. Now at Marla beautiful and sunny :D . As usual it's very busy here. Makes you wonder which cereal box people got their licence from. the amount of nig nogs out on the roads  Helped an elderly couple change their van tyre, the jack he got with his new jacko didn't have a good enough height to get the spare tyre on so Gman got our jack out and used that. Very lucky as the ol fella was struggling due to his health issues. He had never changer a wheel before which made it tougher. Then there was another van up on 2 jacks and both tyres were off, no car in front and an older woman about my age   sitting behind the van I guess waiting for the man to return with 2 new tyres. That was 180ks to Marla. Stopped to see if she was ok and she said all OK so on we went. I really now think that the older ones need to consider their health and age issues before they head off with their huge flash 4x4's and vans, scary stuff.
