Most of those metro buses that come from Adelaide can't be registered or used anywhere in Australia including SA because they are over width.
The Transport SA mob get special permission to run them on Metro bus routes.
There was a chap in Adel buying them for about 4,000 at auction & slicing 4" of each side & replacing the sides back on & then getting them "engineered" for rego but I think he had too much trouble with the approval side of it.
Be careful buying a used metro bus from Adelaide!!!

They called them "Bendy Buses" hear in Brisbane, I believe there was some legal problems with privately registering them here also, possibly something to do with the legality of carrying passengers in a trailer. surfside buses had a few bendys in the 80's too on the gold coast.
