oh just heard on the grape vine that although the gap is open road works continue and will close to traffic for up to an hour at a time during the day so don't be in a hurry.

Heifer Creek.
For us that don't know the area it's hard to find "Heifer Creek" but I reckon it's the road that runs from Gatton across the range & joins back in between Toowoomba & Warwick.
I have no idea of how steep & windy it is though.
Bruce,
That sounds a bit familiar... probably
is that one.
Not so winding that we had any difficulties in Girt with Jim on trailer... 42ft long.
Steepish in parts, mostly downhill en route
to Brisbane.

What ever anyone does, DO NOT try the road past Queen Mary Falls down to Boonah (Warwick, Killarney, QMF, The Head, White Swamp, Mt Alford, Boonah). Seriously steep in parts and some very tight corners completely unsuitable for anything larger than a car/ute/ Hiace size vehicle. Going up is horrible and going down is nerve wracking. Lovely country and views to the coast in parts but unsuitable for larger rigs.

Hi, all.
Heifer Creek is on the Gatton-Clifton Rd about 30 km from Gatton, between the Heifer creek bridges 1 & 2. Just had another pleasant week there. FWI we deliberately chose a back road for the hell of it and went past the Budgee school..

When travelling south we always go via Heifer Ck instead up range toT'Ba. pretty drive, some corners but drive to conditions as always.
