Wait till I get my hands on your computer Bernie!!
I've helped many people to use all sorts of computers & I still find the main problem is the computer controlling the person.
Once people realise that the owner/operator DOES have the ability to over ride & control the computer, everything suddenly becomes easy.
For instance will your computer let you download & install this free software?

Bernie, I have a Microsoft Office 2007 package that I bought way back then. I have been using it on every computer, with whatever operating system accompanied the computer, that I have bought since then.

It just works.

Yeah, I remember those days of computer hassles, went fruity in 2008 and NEVER REGRETTED IT.

Microsoft Office has Outlook which is a bit clunky for most people.
It isn't quite the same as Outlook Express.
I found Thunderbird to be very similar to Outlook Express once I worked out where a few things were.

Cheryl's new computer has w8 and it is the biggest piece of crap I have ever used. I would think that as these operating systems evolve they would become more user friendly, but it isn't. I am contemplating loading w7 on it.

Have you tried the 8.1 upgrade Craig? apparently it makes it a more user friendly operating system if you don't use a touch screen device. Everyone has said the Win 8 was a nightmare, but I haven't heard any bad about the Win 8.1... yet
