I think the reason it needs 'adjusting' depending on where you are is that both the satellite & the LNB (receiving item) must be on the same angle, same orientation, facing the same way, parallel, etc etc etc
The satellite stays the same but depending how far you travel, you might see it from a different angle.
eg. if you hang something on the clothes line & lay on the ground & look up at it you'll see it differently than if you were 100 metres away from it.
