It seems that Dottie has indeed gone about it the RIGHT way Bruce, because she has indeed advised council about the CMCA scheme and also forewarned them that they will be expected to put in more infrastructure if they wish to become a CMCA RV friendly town. As Dottie also mentioned in her post, she previously let CMCA know about the council being open to allowing 2 free camping spots, but the CMCA got their nose out of joint and told her that she was not to represent the CMCA, and after that, no one from the CMCA contacted the Council. So why would she contact the CMCA first this time?? It seems to me that Dottie's letter has already paved the way for CMCA to negotiate an already willing council, rather than either waiting for the council to contact them about a dump point that the council has no idea that they need, or wait for someone at CMCA to send out one of their scouts to suss out possible dump point sites, and hope that they actually look at Strathalbyn, which could take forever, possibly never.

Now both the council and the CMCA will be singing from the same songsheet and the benefit will be, hopefully, a lot less time for the dump points to eventuate

After repeated attempts to get the CMCA to contact our council, I even gave them the contact details of the party concerned and they had already been warmed to the idea, I gave up on both the chances of getting a dump point sponsored by the CMCA and the CMCA itself.

I even contacted the sa rep and told him the name of the councillor to meet with= No response, and so if that other place does re open it will be in there somewhere, ( my telling off that is with all the others) My original letter to the council was for my friends i.e Helen & Chuck's benefit more so than the other mobs.

Oh yeah that spot well even the council knew there were terrible campers here BUT as I told them They slept in the house at night and went into their vans etc during the day for some private time (away from me) Seems you can have visitors for some time but they must sleep in your house. They can use our loo for their business for free but if they dare to want to dump it in the dump point it costs what is the difference? all goes to the same place and we all pay for the pumping apart from the council maybe but hang on they charge to dump ok you motley lot, every visitor to our loo will now be required to pay a fee.

You could put a toilet bowl and small shed over the I/O and call it an outside loo, then use that as the dump point, that is the way the CMCA rally mob do it I believe and it's a common builder trick to avoid the need for a portable toilet and pump out.
