Won't make any difference to me as when they closed the old one I dropped my membership so that leaves me out, besides it will be the same with the same old EXPERTS who think they know it all.
This is the only forum I post on now beside our Lithium one.

I do feel the treatment of all members on here is much more friendly and democratic than that place ever was.
Strange that I keep seeing caravan stuff in The Wanderer. And caravan owners, if they wish, can be CMCA members.

I agree with your rhetoric above - I joined the CMCA because I am interested in motorhomes. If I had a caravan I would have joined a caravan club.

I do find it strange that some criticise the CMCA - yet use the many things that they have been responsible for, eg. sponsored dump points, pushing for freedom camping, etc. are used by them.

Yes, the CMCA have installed & sponsored many dump points Australia wide for the benefit of all RV travellers & been responsible for many of the free camps that we all use, they certainly do deserve some credit.

Good and bad in everything, but once you have been "badded" that leaves a very sour taste in ones mouth no matter how many times you gargle.

Jim, yes of late The Wanderer has been trying to make caravaners feel more wanted, (a bit too late for me) but they have no voting rights and their opinions are rarely wanted, they are only allowed to attend a certain number of the rally things, but they are not campervans and it is a campervan club. I have slowly come to respect that this is not really a club for caravanners, so have let my relationship with them lapse. I do appreciate the dump points etc and acknowledge their existence whenever I can. But no way would I re-join them unless I had a "complying vehicle" . In the meantime, I am in a caravan club.!

Dot I suspect you're talking specifically about the old forum and what happened there?
I was also offended more than once on it but soon realised it was being run by big headed, opinionated 'people' who seemed determined to bring both the forum and the club to it's knees. It wasn't run by the club at all but by 'The Gang'.
Rest assured the people considering bringing the forum back will know who those people were/are and all cautions will be taken to silence them.
We can only wait and see I guess?
I'm prepared to allow the new board the length of rope needed to bring it back.
I can't ever see it being a social type forum but at the same time it'll be a handy tool in case of emergency or breakdown, etc.

Guess the thing is in life you meet all types of people just as you meet all types of people on a forum, life is to short to worry about crap things, better just to move forward & you can't judge a club the size of the CMCA by a few people, IMO it is a good club & striving to make RV travel better for everyone.

Can you tell me what caravan club/s (if any) are helping the travelling public with things like dump point, water, etc.?
