Can you freeze icing on a slice?

That's the way Dot. Do an experimental run with it.
I find the icing doesn't really freeze hard hard, no dramas. When you thaw the slice, leave it either very loosely covered or totally uncovered. This is usually enough to dry it out, but if not, have a handful of icing sugar in a ziplock bag and toss/gently sprinkle over just enough to dry up the excess liquid.

Navigator says it may be a little soft on thawing out - but still taste ok.

Our top layer of the wedding cake was frozen for 2 yrs, half the second layer for 12 mths, each pieace thawed just fine and we had them with custard on our anniversary. Wedding cake icing is not the normal stuff so there could be a different result when using icing sugar beaten to a paste and spread over top type icing.

I don't think so Dot. I think the icing would go watery when thawed. Sorry no smart answers forthcoming!!
