I turn off the power to my phones and they don't beep.

Is it ok to turn the power (to the house) completely off at the switch board whilst away or do we have to leave it on for the solar panels to send power back to the grid?

How long do you expect to be away?

For just a few months, would it be better to let your fridge run? We go away for 6 months at a time and leave them running. The one time that I did turn off a fridge we came home to find it mouldy and the freezer fan seized. Took a while to clean it up and pull out the fan and free it. Much easier leaving it running.

Nothing left in the fridge or freezers. When we switch them off we always clean them out with either white vinegar or bleach and also leave the doors wide open.
