SOG... Whats the verdict...???

You should try parking next to someone who hasn't replaced the carbon filter often enough. In hot weather the stench is horrific as the SOG pumps the smell out of the cassette. We used one in the south of France and never again! Can't beat Sod. percarbonate for good results.

So is this right? If you have a cassette loo and don't want to use anything in the tank e.g. chemicals or the nappy san stuff then this is where the SOG thing comes into play? When we had our winnie we didn't have a problem with smells (yes our shite does stink) but we did use that nasty chemical stuff.

The idea is safe for septics ,drop pit ,buary in the bush etc... Prolly even be able to sell it a Mindil Markets ...

Two benefits; firstly, when the toilet is in use the fan comes on and evacuates air from the toilet through the cassette to the outside world - no smell at all inside the van. The fan is only on while the slide is open. Secondly, it saves using highly toxic chemicals.

Unless you stick your nose against the fan outlet you won't smell anything from any reasonable distance. If a neighbouring van can smell something there is another problem. For years I have been reading stories suggesting SOG equipped cassettes smell; as I said previously, always from people who don't have one.

I fitted one to the loo in the Oka when we were fitting it out and as a result we've never used chemicals in the loo in nearly 7 years since installation.
Change the carbon filter every 12 months is the total maintenance required and as has been said the cassette can safely be emptied into septic systems.
