JD, I was using 24v relay on 24v switching but with a 12v load (and a tiny one at that, just telling my radio to show reverse cam when selected at the gearbox) but I couldnt get the relay(s) to even click.
Interesting
Wayne, Does your bus have a reverse beeper somewhere in that same circuit? Only asking because when I did exactly the same thing on the old Coaster every time it beeped the vision went blurry. It worked fine when I used a separate circuit to power camera. I put it down to back EMF from the beeper.

Hi David, there is a beeper in the circuit but I disconnected it for wiring setup, I haven't checked if it affects the cam. We run 2 screens, a dedicated rear facing 7" for full time, this can be switched to a roof view forward for branches, etc. The Radio also hooks to a wide angle reverse cam activated when reverse is selected. This screen is crystal clear -all 12v house battery- but the full time 24v screen suffers some mild interference when the alternaltor is busy. Some magnetic iron wrapped wiring may assist with this although the interference is only light, horizontal lines.
JD, the switch seems to be a simple on/off single pole, no earthing. Gbox is Eaton RR.
T1 you could be right about the lack of loading being the issue.

I used the 12V version of this to switch reverse cameras on The Cheap.

Wayne,

what I meant was like this;

On the Isuzu, the reverse switch has one wire. The circuit is: +12>> light >>> switch >> to earth via the switch case.

So, when I select reverse, the switch closes and 'connects' the earth though the casing.

Does your reverse switch have one or two wires?

Great find and 24v as well. You are a whizz at finding these things, maybe I should give you a job :lol:
