Kombi, camper, pop top, bay window

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Last time I was down in Wollongong Wayne Penrose had a fully mechanically restored Kombi camper for sale at around the $33,000 mark, so that is the sort of $$ they are fetching in the condition you describe Lance. Fully restored Kombi Microbus https://www.wpvw.com.au/classifieds.htm $45,000 back in 2013 so ...... when you see them advertised like this one https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/VW-Kombi-19 ... Sw83taUCGJ at around the $16,000 mark you are not buying something ready to give a wash and polish and hit the road.

You are right it was yellow and white $25.990 he had on it

Ummm.... those auctions were 2yrs ago Dottles, restoring a split window Kombi is a very expensive process because they rusted from the inside out through multiple layers that made up the body strength and then the outer look good panel went on top. When you see rust bubbles on the outer skin of a split window Kombi there is a world of body work under neither that has already been eaten away.
Bay window Kombi's are at least a bit better, the low light (indicators close to the bumper and egg shaped tail lights) had rust issues around the front that remain hidden unless you crawl under and look in from the back, the later bay window models with the indicators up near the windscreen and the long rectangular taillights are pretty much what you see is what you get because they have very little double panelling. All the body parts to build any kombi from an early split window right through to the latest models are available so at least that makes the job a bit easier.
