Me too, only 2 or 3 Vik, where we are renting in Pakenham Vic they are knocking down a 20 year old house and building 4 2 storey townhouses on a 800 sq m block. Neighbours are not happy, some have even sold up.

The new slums... we looked at a 1950-60 area ,big good old blocks, house could use a bit of tizz...BUT...
Same story,developers or should I say destroyers just buy em up knock em over and cram on as many as they can, so if ya bought one, next minute next door sell and you are in the shade of a two story POS...!!!
We have had to now look at more “Heritage” type jionts where the sumanabitches cant knock every thing down so easy... and up go the $$$$

When we sold our house in Melbourne on ⅓ acre, we expected a developer to snap it up.
Private buyer beat them to the punch...
After five years, we drove by. Garden is still as neat and tidy as we left it!
Obviously the new owners are looking after the house and yard exactly as we did.
Beats the crap out of the dozens of rentals & ‘redevelopment’ in the area.
