Might even get there before T1 leaves for STC...
Having mysterious probs with the engine, and a water leak.
Currently staying with Riverlander (John & Faye) until Monday when mechanics are back on deck.
After that, it's up to that Chinese bloke, Hoo Nose Howlong.

Sad news, people.
We’re aborting our SA trip.
Our ‘minor engine problem’ was becoming annoying, so took Girt to a diesel mechanic John knows is reliable and thorough.
As soon as he put Girt over his pit he spotted a much more serious problem: the lower left control arm on the front suspension is badly cracked, to the point he refused to let me drive the 2km back to John’s to unload the fridge!
Girt’s unroadworthy. And parts for a 2003 Chevy chassis have to be ordered from America. Local importers only have parts for 2012 onward.

So we’re cancelling the rest of the trip and hiring a car to get home with hounds.
So Bruce, T1 & Dot, you have a (temporary) reprieve from a Nolan invasion.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Regards & God bless,

Not that bad, it would have just ground to a halt when the spring drove the remainder of the lower control arm into the bitumen and the wheel would have jammed up under the front mud guard, then the tow truck would have been called. Who sits on that side?
