yer but,.... where's the lithium tap on the battery?
still in lockdown
They all have one and all emergency crash crews know where the breaker switch is located. It actually breaks the circuit part way through the battery pack, there is a fuse as part of that breaker switch so even if there was a short circuit, the fuse would blow first.
The likes of Tesla batteries have a fusable link on the negative end of each cell, an over load of any cell results in that cell being isolated. There is an episode on Electric Samba where he tests a module under load to failure point to verify the actual current load the fusable links fail.
The risk of a fire caused by the lead acid battery shorting out in an accident is far greater than the battery in an EV shorting out, that is why the first responders disconnect the battery as the very first action at an accident .... that is because the 12v lead acid start battery doesn't have any fusable links internally or to the main starter cable ......
Ever watched the fire mobs try to put out a diesel fire when a truck crashes or just catches fire? If being burnt alive in a fire after an accident scares you, don't drive a diesel fuel vehicle because those fires are near impossible to put out.
As far as a point the EV drive battery can be linked to an inverter to supply 240vac, already part of the design in just about every EV produced after 2020, designed to allow the EV to share power back to house in peak demand periods.
