T1,
I base my opinion on the appearance given by Chairman Dan that the world ends at the edge of Greater Melbourne & Sydney suburbia.
If there’s a positive case in Melbourne, the whole state locks down. Half a dozen cases in Sydney and the border closes to everyone — including returning Victorian residents.
At the beginning of this lockdown Our Beloved Leader said “People have had plenty of notice to get back from Sydney.”
He doesn’t seem to realise that some people travel to places other than Sydney… like country NSW or outback Qld.
His border restrictions make cross-border life extremely difficult. Many small businesses have closed permanently. People around here will remember that when the next election comes around…

Sadly, small businesses closing up for good has been going on for quite a while in smaller country towns across Australia, Covid shut-downs have accelerated this trend but it's not confined to any particular state.

NSW didn't lock the whole state down, the spread caused by this mis-step is now obvious, I think Dan did the right thing by closing the borders because who knows where the next infected person could have been in the last weeks ...... Having to self isolate when you get home after having passed through a state with the virus running amok is a sensible safety precaution I'd think and I'd completely understand such a restriction when we travel to Qld in Oct ... well, if we can still get there via NT of course .......

If Dan looses votes because of the state wide lock downs, then that is the way it goes, Gladys will loose votes because she didn't do a state wide lockdown and that is the way that goes as well .... you can't please all the people all the time, but it's not hard to really p*ss them off no matter what you do ......

Whole of NSW is locked down.

I guess, those who wanted her to lock down early are pissed and those who didn't want lock down are pissed too.

I could understand the requirement for our self-isolation IF we’d travelled through Sydney or some area where the virus was present.
However, when we drove home, far western NSW was Covid-free. The virus had NEVER been found in the towns we passed through — and we DID pass through, not visit.
Of course, since our transit the virus has spread like… well, a virus.
About bl00dy time the whole state went into lockdown.
As our son described it, Sydney had been in “mockdown”.
All because Gladys was fearful of the backlash if she went in hard on Afgladystan (another one from the Son-&-heir!).
Not even a curfew as in Victoria… no 5km travel limit, just a “please do the right thing”.
I reckon Gladys and Chairman Dan will suffer the same fate, but for opposite reasons.
